Another castle that I managed to film during my travels in Italy.
In San Martino in Soverzano, a hamlet of Minerbio, stands the castle built in 1411 by the Bolognese knight Bartolomeo Manzoli.
The castle, dating back to the 14th century, was remodeled in the 19th century.
The rectangular plan, the internal courtyard, the defensive towers at the corners of the building and the moat that surrounds it underline the defense and residence characteristics that the castle must have possessed.
The portico leading to the castle park was built in 1684 to host an important annual fair and even today the October Fair continues to attract visitors on the first weekend of the month.
