A poster on the park railings recently, reminded me of an event I filmed with my newly-acquired Pocket2, a couple of years ago. Post-Covid.The footage got filed away, and eventually overlooked.
Today, faced with yet another morning of persistent rain ( in July!!) I decided to dig out the footage and cobble together a couple of minutes of amusement.

Since it's raining AGAIN I thought I'd have a bit of fun with it.

I had a couple of spots this morning.  But nothing more yet,    Tomorrow rain is back on the forecast.  


Yesterday ln the way to the meal I thought we might be somewhat delayed due to a helicopter that was at 45 degrees off level above the road at roughly 200ft,    seemed like it was about to crash.  Turned out to be the national grid helicopter for inspecting the power lines.   I could do without the stress of that.

A bit of fun in the sun for the local kiddies.
A good charity fund-raiser for the local PTA as well.
Almost £6000 this year.

It would be better if they had some branding on the helicopter then you might guess better what they are doing,  not everyone knows how to look up ADSB information and then query the ownership from the g-info registration data.

One from the archives I've been hoarding for a couple of years Depp.  That takes place along the riverbank, just across the road from our place. About half a kilometre away.

At this time of year the river level is normally sufficiently depleted for the event to take place.
I believe that this year, the course record for the duck race may have been broken, due to higher levels after all the unseasonal rain.
If you remember my post following Storm Babet you can see the difference in water flow on the Goyt.
