Hi,

I've take a look at the new DJI SDR transmitter, looks nice, and we can have Ronin control by app. I see that activetrack isn't available with it, but why ? What the point of getting control by the ronin app, like with the Raveneye, but no Activetrack ? Is a software update planned for this ? Or the point is to put SDR and Raveneye on the RS3 pro or others gimbals ? Thats sound a bit silly, don't you ?

Yeah, disappointed that active track is disabled with the SDR. I was ready to buy until I saw that...

Hi Natalia,

I hope you can push an update about that as soon as possible, like ZmoothOperator said, it's the only thing stopping me to buy this product.

Absolutely ridiculous to disable ActiveTrack for the SDR product. Furthermore, DJI has mutilated the Activetrack function logic in the latest Ronin App version 1.8.0 by removing vehicle and object recognition... Absurd.

I second this. Was really surprised to discover that Active Track was  unavailable with the SDR

Other issues are:
. The SDR receiver isn’t recognized as a webcam when plugged into a computer like the DJI Transmission
. The receiver won’t charge the battery of the iOS device it’s plugged into

OMG...Just got the SDR and after spending a few hours trying to get Active Track to work...I find out its totally disabled? Like I have to go back to the RavenEye?

So my first few hours with the SDR are a mixed bag. No active track, and no RX seen as a webcam via the USB-C. So why did I stop using my other transmitters? <sigh> I really wanted this to be an upgrade to the Raveneye and sit on my Ronin permanently. This is so typical of DJI. Somethings you just assume are part of the functionality, so you never comb through the fine print. I definitely have a love/hate relationship with DJI.

The ActiveTrack function is definitely needed in SRD, I considered the possibility of using it for live broadcasts, but now I don’t even know. Integration with Ronin needs to be more advanced, I hope so. Otherwise, there will be a bunch of extra hardware again, especially since Raven and SDR will be able to work together for different tasks on one gimbal?

Totally agree with you ! With DJI you never know you're gonna get ! Very disappointed to lost the active track with SDR. The image quality is definitively better, but somewhat useless withour the active track

This is crazy -- it sounds like ActiveTrack (older version) is built into Raveneye, and ActiveTrack newer version is built into LiDAR, but it's NOT built into SDR, and even worse - SDR can't access/control ActiveTrack newer version in LiDAR. And even worse than that...if a person has Raveneye, it can only control the older version of ActiveTrack in the Raveneye and NOT the newer version of ActiveTrack in the LiDAR (version 1 or 2). And even worse, if a user invests in the LiDAR, there is no way to remotely control ActiveTrack newer version in the LiDAR.

It sounds like we 2 crappy options to choose from:
Option 1) spend less money on Raveneye to remotely control an inferior version of ActiveTrack
Option 2) spend a lot more money on LiDAR to get a superior version of ActiveTrack, but no way to remotely control it?

Or option 3) invest in option 2 and invest in SDR transmission...only to find out Option 1 is the only way to remotely activate ActiveTrack -- WHAT A DISASTER.

Yeah!! It was a Negative Surprise that Active Track in the DJI SDR Transmitter was not active, that's was the First and main reason why I bought it, the second reason was that it has SDI, I saw it as RavenEye with SDI, I was so happy that I will finally remove the Blackmagic HDMI to SDI converter I attached to my Gimbals, since I own two DJI Gimbals, I will hold on buying the second SDR Transmission for now, when active Track is enabled on the SDR Transmission I will buy the second Unit, I want them to remain on my DJI Gimbals.
Well DJI the ball is in your court... don't loose Your Customers due to something you can Push-out Firmware update to add or fix.

It's such a bummer I bought an RS4p, assuming I could use Lidar and Raveneye together.  NOPE... Do you know how I should use it remotely?   SDR?  Nope.  So my open option is another $2,500 for a Transmission/Screen combo?
