This is a new thread to discuss attempts to get more functionality out of the D-RTK 2, namely to use it as a base station for NTRIP casting. It order to do so, the D-RTK 2 needs to be connected to a network via the LAN port and dedicated LAN cable (an optional accesory).

The discussion of this effort began in the "D-RTK 2 Base State Coordinates" thread, in post #14 by @Guille_Meinero. After finally getting a forum Mod to chime in on the matter, we were told that what we want to do is impossible, as there is currently no way to make use of the LAN port or cable (5+ years after the D-RTK 2 was released, with claims about this very capability to be found in the User Guide).
So here's a new thread to chat about the possibilities. Here is what we know:
- Newer D-RTK 2's have both a CAN port and a LAN port. Older ones have only LAN.
- Efforts to try the CAN port with a DJI Lemo-to-serial cable have not yielded any useful results. No data was seen coming out of the port.
- According to the manual and info from DJI Engineers (as relayed via a mod), "The networking function of D-RTK 2 is only available in Mode 2, which is not currently open, so the LAN port is currently useless for D-RTK 2. This LAN port is reserved and has no function for the time being."
- HOWEVER, I purchased a LAN cable, and have connected it to a PC and captured packets via Wireshark, and there is definitely activity on the port regardless of what mode the D-RTK 2 is in. I haven't made sense out of all the packets, but there are a lot of generic DHCP ones (the D-RTK 2 IP address is being set to 169.254.96.87) as well as ICMP, UDP, and others. I'm not well versed in network traffic and comms, so if anybody would like to take a look at a few minutes of captured data, let me know and I will share the files.
So, what does anybody think? What's the next step? Try to send commands to the D-RTK 2 via a terminal program? Or is there an app that we can try that should "see" the receiver and communicate with it?
