Hello,

actually i have a Iphone 13 Pro.
I want to use the remote Control of the OP3 via the virtual joysticks. I have the separate joysticks in the settings.
One for horizontal and one for vertical zoom.
So i get smooth pans.

I´m thinking about getting a Google Pixel 8 Pro with Android 14 and very soon Android 15

Can i use the mimo app to (re) activate the OP3 on the Pixel 8 and having the same controls?
I just want to remote the OP3
Recording is on the OP3.
Movies are transfered to my PC via USB

I know, that i need to download the app via the website.
I also read about the privacy in the dji mimo app on android.
That they will read a lot of personal informations on the phone and will send it to dji servers.
Is there any official statement?

i feel more secure on IOS with this app actually because of their more secure system.

I would be very happy about a feedback.
Otherwise i can´t joyn the Android train.

Thanks

Hi there,

Thank You for reaching out. You can check on compatibility at this link DJI Osmo Pocket 3 - Mimo is not Listed as a Supported Mobile Device on DJI Official Website kindly take note. Generally, devices not listed as supported mobile devices can also be used if their system versions are the same or later than those published on the DJI official website (Beta system versions may not be compatible), but their stabilization has not yet been verified. It is recommended that you download and install the app to test the basic functions, or go to a nearby outlet (if any) for product testing. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Sorry to hear such basic answer.

Does any real user have a Google Pixel 8 and could answer, if the Dji Mimo app is starting?

Thank you very much

As the MIMO app is free, there would appear to be no real financial imperative for DJI to invest in keeping the software current with new smartphone releases or expand it to encompass a wider smartphone pool. Obviously, new iPhone and Samsung releases will be covered because the OP3 is still selling quite well. But it is quite a surprise that the full Pixel range is not on the compatibility list. After all, it is the true home of the Android operating system.

I have been tempted by the Pixel 8 Pro since its recent vertiginous price fall, but the lack of MIMO compatibility has been the one factor that has put me off.

Just out of interest, I asked AI about the Pocket 3's MIMO app, without mentioning the Pixel 8 Pro.

Here's the reply :-

The DJI Mimo app for the Pocket 3 has faced some compatibility issues with certain Android phones, particularly the Pixel 8 Pro. Users have reported difficulties in downloading and using the app on these devices, leading to frustration and delays in purchasing the Pocket 3. DJI has suggested downloading the app directly from their official website if it cannot be found on the app store. Some users have managed to connect their Pixel 8 Pro to the Pocket 3 using the Mimo app, while others have encountered lagging and disconnection issues.

For those who cannot use the Mimo app due to various reasons, there is no known alternative method to update the Pocket 3 firmware without the app, except for the initial activation process which can be done by installing the app temporarily and then uninstalling it afterward. This workaround allows continued use of the device and file transfer without the app once it is activated.

By the way, despite its absence from the compatibility list, the MIMO app is working fine on my Pixel 4A.
