i have a DJI Osmo Action 4 camera, and a Samsung S6 Lite tablet with WIFI only.

I loaded the Mimo App onto the tablet and the DJI Light cut software.  i was able to connect to the camera to initialise it.  but now can't connect to it at all.

Mimo app- Software detects tht camera, but the connection times out when i hit " connect"

Light Cut - Software can detect the camera,  tries to connect via bluetooth,  then WIFI and it times out.

Lightcut software says to disable and re-enable the WLAN, but that does nothing.

it then tells me to power the camera off and close the software and start over.

THis is the endless circle i am in.

I CAN connect to the camera with a borrowed Pixel 8 though

Searchign the internet the troubleshooting , is the same,  reset Wifi, close and reopen the software etc.

I have reset the camera's WiFi settings, and can detect it.  but connecting to it continues to time out.

Is there a solution for this?  the only thing different between the Pixel 8 and my tablet is it has a SIM card in it.  That can't be the requirement, that it needs to connect to the internet via the Cell network, AND use the wifi  and bluetooth for the camera?

Hi there,

Your device Pixel 8 is not listed as a Supported Mobile Device on DJI Official Website. Generally, devices not listed as supported mobile devices can also be used if their system versions are the same or later than those published on the DJI official website (Beta system versions may not be compatible), but their stabilization has not yet been verified. It is recommended that you download and install the app to test the basic functions, or go to a nearby outlet (if any) for product testing.

At the moment this is a known issue for some compatible devices.  If it works on your device, you can try the temporary alternative method provided on your DM for this issue. But if it doesn't we are unable to assist further as it is not listed in the official site. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Any updates to this issue?  Not to be an armchair developer, but I don't understand why there is a compatibility issue at all?

Drones, OK, you are sending and receiving data in real time, i can imagine using custom protocols or be sensitive to antenna and cpu types in a device.  but a camera to update firmware?  the WFI connections using TCP/IP and the Bluetooth i assume is also standard?

any plans to allow Windows based  PC's to be able to update firmware?  i can live with not being able to connect to it with whatever android device i have if i can manage it via a laptop or desktop.
