I have tested Mastershot with my Mini 4 Pro as I have found out that most of the footage during the progress can be used to give good results.

I have though noticed differences.  On the two Mastershots I recently did, I can see the sequences not are identical.  This is what I found (unique parts in the sequences are marked blue):

Sequence 1:
Dronie - Circle (Far) - Pitch Up + Fly Forward - Circle (Close) - Circle (Medium) - Rocket - Camera Down + Fly forward - Camera Down + Circle - Camera Straight + Descend - Camera Down + Descend.

Sequence 2:
Dronie - Circle (Far) - Pitch up + Fly Forward - Roll + Fly forward - Circle (Close) - Zoom in/Out - Circle (Medium)Rocket - Camera straight + Descend - Camera Straight + Circle.

Will the sequence be randomly selected or does it depend on the object chosen and the surrouindings?

I also found a new feature; Roll.  It this something that is available in any flying option (cannot find it in the manual), or will it just coe randomly when using mastershots?
The roll can be seen on at 3:10.

Hi, there. Thank you for reaching out!
After “MasterShots” function is enabled, the aircraft can automatically match the appropriate flight path (Portrait, Proximity, or Landscape) and shoot videos with multiple classic shooting modes according to the type and distance of the shooting target.
When entering the Portrait mode for shooting, the aircraft will automatically perform as follows:
Zoom In/Out - Circle (Medium) - Circle (Close) - Dronie - Circle (Far) - Pitch Up + Fly Forward - Rocket - Camera Down Circle - Camera Straight + Descend - Camera Down + Descend.
When entering the Proximity mode for shooting, the aircraft will automatically perform as follows:
Dronie - Circle (Far) - Pitch Up + Fly Forward - Circle (Close)- Circle (Medium) - Rocket - Camera Down + Fly Forward - Camera Down Circle - Camera Straight + Descend - Camera Down + Descend.
When entering the Landscape mode for shooting, the aircraft will automatically perform as follows:
Dronie - Circle (Far) - Pitch Up + Fly Forward - Roll + Fly Forward - Circle (Close) - Zoom In/Out - Circle (Medium) - Rocket - Camera Straight + Descend - Camera Straight Circle.
And Roll + Fly Forward
For more information, you could refer to this link:https://support.dji.com/help/con ... ;paperDocType=paper

You could achieve Roll with FPV mode since the image transmission screen will tilt when the left sticks are pushed to the left or right in it.
Stick movement of Mini 4 pro to make the gimbal FPV mode take effect is Remote controller roll axis or pitch axis + yaw axis.
If you have other questions in the future, please feel free to contact us.

. And i

In short, depends on the object, whether it's human or landmark and the distance. And it's a great feature combined with the 360 OA

Thank you very much for your response.  It was very enlightening. Looking at the paper, I now understand that after selecting Mastershots, it seems like you have further options, using the drop down as with waypoints. I will definitely try this out.  I will also try out the FPV pushing left/right. A lot of very useful information. Thank you very much.
Only one question for clarification; I understand that the drone will itself identify whether Landscape or Proximity will be used, but what defines Proximity? Looking at the word, to me it means something close. Is that correct?

Yes, you are correct. "Proximity" means close shot and the corresponding "landscape" means distant view, as well as portrait. The MasterShots can automatically match the appropriate flight path.

I have now tested to see if I was able to trigger "Landscape" by going quite far up and away (look at the enclosed pictures).  Still it selects Proximity mode.

Is it any way to choose that a Landscape mode should be used insted?  Can e.g. the drop down menu and by changing some of the options there end up with landscape mode?

Do you have an explanation to the different settings on the Mastershots menu (I could not find it in the manual, nor in the instruction video), or do I have to test it myself?

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out.
The relevant parameters of the proximity and landscape of the Mastershots are as follows.

[Proximity]
Length (The distance from the aircraft’s starting position to the furthermost point of the MasterShots’s track): Small (60 m), Medium (100 m), and Large (140 m)
Width range (Taking the target position as the center of the circle, and the angle is the maximum angle of the track): Small (50 degrees), Medium (75 degrees), and large (105 degrees)
Height range: Small (40 m), Medium (60 m), and Large (80 m)
[Landscape]
Length (The distance from the aircraft’s starting position to the furthermost point of the MasterShots’s track): Small (60 m), Medium (100 m), and Large (140 m)
Width range (Taking the target position as the center of the circle, and the angle is the maximum angle of the track): Small (40 degrees), Medium (60 degrees), and large (90 degrees)
Height range: Small (40 m), Medium (60 m), and Large (80 m)
When the distance between the target and the aircraft is more than 100 m, it will be determined as Landscape. When the distance is less than 100 m, it will be determined as Proximity.

There is an article introducing the Mastershots, here is the link: https://support.dji.com/help/con ... cal&paperDocTyp e=paper
There are also instructions on how to enter and exit the Mastershots in the user manual on page 34 to the top half of 35.

Hi Tony,

Thank you for sharing the distance parameters to expect choosing the different ranges, but the rest of the information was already known to me as it is available in the user manual and the instructional video.  What I am missing is what parameters that decide doing the Landscape mode, as I am not able to get the landscape mode more than one time (without knowing why I got it).

Do you know what triggers Landscape mode?

Sorry Tony, I realise you have answered this (embedded into the different distances. I will do a test flight to ensure that I start more than 100 meters from the selected subject to see if this triggers the Landscape mode.

10X for the info, you should publish the settings parameters somewhere, for e.g. I needed this few months ago, cause I was in a place with restricted height and I needed to know the max height of every option, anyway I did some test beforehand

Hello again,

Finally I have had the time to test quite a lot and this time I was determined not to give up until I had managed to trigger the MasterShot Landscape mode.

I can confirm to you that it seems that you have to be a lot farther away than 100m to trigger it. I have created a video where you clearly can see that I am a lot more than 100m away. On the last part, I selected a subject several 100 meters away and then I was successful.

You can find the video of my trials and findings here:

My question is; Why isn't it possible to select what mode you want to film in when doing MasterShots rather than ot being selected for you. Perhaps something for a later update?
