After years of my dji fly working like a charm on my OnePlus 8T, DJI FLY app suddently crash at each start up since last week...
I tried countless reinstall, cleaning memory, reboots... without success
Only this patch was the solution.

Well that definitely fixed my Mimo App issue .  I just have to stay off those Android Beta releases.    Thanks again for the follow up on the Mimo App Burt.     You're the man.

It seems that Google released an Android security patch this month for their phones and that does conflict with the DJI Fly app. So it was not the actual Android OS itself, but simply the security update..

So, the DJI team was very quick and worked overnight to release a patch...

And in my humble opinion, DJI did a good job this time...

I don't want to break your bubble, but harmful warnings are normally used in place where there is a possible danger of people dying...

I really don't think that downloading the DJI new firmware, will endanger your life...

The link is more than two weeks old and no one complained... I would say your Norton Antivirus or AVG is/are your possible problem...

People using Norton AVG are usually the problem, I might agree to. The issue pointed out by the above poster is a valid one. You are not an official DJI source. You are probably acting in best intent, and this is highly commendable, but from a software security perspective this might also be  a nice example of social engineering to hook people with malware. Not saying you re doing that - to the contrary as stated above - but I can understand the prior posters motivation for asking for something official. DJI should in its own interest quickly close this, edit out the link and point to some official source.

I just made it into a thread instead of what originally was just a reply to a single post...

You need to spend a bit more time around here before you actually start to pass bad judgements without actually knowing what is going on...

This post of yours here actually proves that:

1) you don't know the actual issue about the safety update

2) The patch in the first post it is what you are supposed to use to get rid of the issue of the DJI app not longer starting after the latest Android security update...

It was released by DJI for that purpose...

If you are now getting the message in your phone about the DJI Fly app not being safe, you need to learn to open your Android phone to third party application...

While I think all this is a bit of a conundrum for some people,  just to fly a drone, I don't get to make that choice, so don't shoot the messanger!!!

Using Pixel 8 Pro with current Android- Multiple attempts to install provided patch. Just does not install. Any ideas?  thx
Update- I deleted all iterations of the patch and re-started the phone. I run into basically the "App npt installed" message but I selected "install anyway" which I have not seen mentioned as recommended anywhere. The app did install and appears to be functioning. I have not yet connected to the drone but the app did take me to the "academy" page so I am encouraged.

That can be so many reasons for that....

Do you have "Apply third party application" enable in Google?
Do you have some antivirus installed in your phone?
Have removed completely your previous DJI Fly installation?

When you say provided patch, which link are you referring too?

That's the right one for your phone, and it should work..

Do you get any message while installing the app?

I know you said it doesn't install, but do you actually get anything on the screen?

That's good. Excellent...

The "install anyway" message is the correct one that you should have received when allowing third party applications on your phone... It should work fine now...

This does not work. Asks for an AD account and password. Not sure what an AD account is? All fixes I have tried do not work.
