I have 5 of these Tello Edu drones I'd like to use in a school club.  Only problem is I can only ever get one of them to work at any given time.

5 drones, all with freshly charged batteries.

Drone 1 connects to computer 1, load Tello Scratch, load extensions, light flashes pink and the drone works perfectly.
Drones 2-4 connect to computers 2-4, load Tello Scratch, load extensions, light flashes green a couple of times then red for 'flat battery' and dies.

Has anyone successfully had more than one of these drones working in a classroom without having to use a mobile phone to control the others?

You have to use separate controller

Sorry if this wasn't clear, but I'm trying to connect each drone to a separate computer, not all drones to 1 computer.

According to the manual,  the red light is for "Critical Error" Page 6

Silly question:

What happens if you try to connect each drone individually? (as one at a time and not while the other one is on)

In the manual it states that it has a frequency range, so I'm just guessing, perhaps the error is due to conflict of frequency assingment in the WiFi settings...

There is also a Video available here... (not sure if it will help but it does mention connection issues)

Thanks, I'll give that a watch and see what I can find out.  It does sound like frequency conflicts might be the issue here, as each drone connects perfectly if it's the only one switched on.

If I can use the mobile app to change the frequency range of each drone, we might be getting somewhere...

Yes, you will definitely need a unique frequency for each drone..

But I think it could also be as simple as a different WiFi network address for each drone...

Surely each drone provides it's own WiFi unique to the drone?

In lame terms, you need to have each drone bind to only one computer, in the same way we bind one radio to a drone...

I don't have the drone in question, so I'm going by what I saw in the manual...

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do!  But in a classroom I can only ever get the first drone to talk to the Scratch/Tello application, the others connect via wifi and then give that critical error when you load the software.  Going to investigate frequencies when I get a spare moment.
