Thanks for the Post. I have been looking for something like that. You need a Degree in Mechanical Engineering to use the lock that comes with it.

You will get use to it, I had the same feeling, but after 10 to 12 times, it is now automatic.
The advantage of this one is that it also includes a lens cover, which the stock one doesn't.

I have one similar.  But, I am going to look for something that is JUST a slip-on cover without the gimbal lock portion.  It just doesn't work that well, and certainly not as well as the stock one.  Since I don't have a simple slip-on cap yet, I currently use both.  It took a few minutes of sitting down and analyzing how the stock one goes on and how it has to be done in order to not slip off on its own, but once I did, it goes on in about 10 seconds.

One thing I had to do with my slip-on with lock was to insert a layer of Scotch Tape in two places to tighten up the slip-on action so it didn't fall off.  I did this on the inside of the filter, so the tape was between the filter and the circumference of the camera UV filter.  It only took a couple of places a half inch wide to take up the slack and snug things up.

Someone is making (saw it online somewhere) a better version lock that actually locks the gimbal to the quad, instead of just locking the camera to the gimbal.  This relieves some of the stress on the rubber vibration mounts, as well as the camera to the gimbal.

Your not wrong the generic one that comes with the p3 suxxxx.These ones of ebay are easy as to install and have a lens cover to boot.

Thank. I ordered 2. the curious thing is that the DJI Logo is on the front of the lens cover. Is this a DJI product. I hope so or someone is in trouble. That is there Logo which I would imagine is a legal Trademark.

I bought a set of ND Filters from Taco RC Store that included a Lens cover with Gimbal lock, bit fiddly using it the first time but it is a far superior solution than the one supplied. Only problem I have is remembering to remove it before turning on.

I wanted to buy 2 and I know the P3 Standard camera isn't the same as the P3 Pro/Advanced. Anyone find a gimbal lock and lens cover that works on the Standard model? There's a 3D thingyverse design http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:944712 if you have a 3D printer. But again, this is for the Pro and Advanced. I don't see any mention of the Standard.

very 'pro' looking. remove before flight flags are attached to the pitot tube cover on aircraft sometimes. The outside diameter of the lens housing on the Standard the same as the Pro?

I had to put a reminder on the battery compartment to remind me to remove the gimbal cover.

I bought that Gimbal Lock and Lens Cover as well but I prefer this one with a remove before flight tag Gimbal Lock and Lens Cover because the lens cover is soft (less chance of scratching the lens). It came with this Gimbal Camera Guard. I only ordered the Guard but the seller threw in the Gimbal Lock and Lens Cover for free maybe because the guard dropped from $11 to $8 after I ordered. Both available for $15 both

Thanks for the Post, I'll check it out. It is good to keep the UV Filter on the Lens. If it gets scratched, a lot less money than a Lens.
