Had the pleasure of shooting around California on my recent trip.   Was great to meet up with PureSQNut and Skyrider from the forum!

Here is the compile of my trip.   Was shot in the High Sierra, San Francisco (with PureSQNut), Santa Cruz (with Skyrider) Carmel and Cannery Row in Monterey.

Combination of P3 and Inspire 1.

A bit of redundancy - the church, trees, windmills - I think it loses a bit when it's repeated (but that's just me). Also, did you shoot LOG profile?

Being picky is good!   It's possible to like something and also see room for improvement.

I know what you mean about repetition.  What I was going for was a quick intro at the start establishing all the settings, then exploring them in a little more detail over time.   Tried to vary the impact with completely different looks between the shots.

But I agree, could have been a bit tighter.  Next time I'll go to even more locations and have more variety!

Very nicely done. The video transitions synced almost perfectly with the audio.

I personally liked that the video started and ended with the trees.

Thanks Sir Wonka.   Setting for the trees was the same as usual, LOG, 0 sharpness, -2 saturation and contrast.   Just shot that at dawn to capture the morning magic.

The night shots were basically pushed to the extreme, ISO 1600.  Had to use some selective color correction, noise reduction and vignetting to get it looking good, but it held together pretty well.

Heh, I got up around 6am to get out there!   Freaked me out as I kept thinking I would get stopped.  Only flew for about 30 seconds and took off!

Really nice camera work. moving the camera smoothly while flying the craft can be really tricky. Nice work, dude!

Thanks for noticing!  Yeah, getting that camera to smooth out at the end of a move is very tricky!

Thanks for sharing, some lovely terrain there, nice to have such great source material!

Much of it looks overexposed, we're you shooting in the middle of the day?   Very difficult to get a pleasing exposure with ultra high contrast.    Maybe experiment with shooting just after dawn or during golden hour around dusk.  

But great job!

I thought it was great, very well done, nicely edited too!

  But there are some who would argue your flying over populated areas, built up areas, and I noticed groups of people too, who could have been injured by it if it had crashed.  1800 pound fine and 2 year ban in the UK for that. Also did you have written permission to film those strangers as it could have been an invasion of privacy there .   ahhahah

I get my ass ripped out for flying 30 meters from about 12 houses with almost no one about. So hows this work.

Very different rules in different places.   In Australia I couldn't have done much of this flying, especially at night.   
Having said that, in Australia I'm free to fly in a National Park, which in the U.S. is illegal.

It's extremely important to know and follow the rules when you are in each place.

On that aspect I agree with you but do not agree that I broke any guidelines where I flew.     

In addition there are different regulations if I were using the clip for business or profit, which I am not.   It's a glorified home video, nothing more.   If it were for profit or broadcast I would need release forms from anyone that featured closely.   

If you can direct me to a specific US guideline you think I broke then let's talk about it.

Yes, it was during the middle of the day.    I agree it is difficult to do so.  I'll try that for sure!   I did film some yesterday right before sunset but have not had time to go over the footage.  I will try that!
