Well it looked like a toy from the sky.

Very interesting topdown shot DA.    That really gives you a great perspective how much the tide variance is in that area.

Where did all the water go?

That needs a very high tide to get wet again.

Yes,  and it must have been a freak tide to get it there.   a bit like this accident yesterday where a boat broke its mooring and caused a visit from the coastguard.

It probably hasn't.,  but at least that one isnt causing the coastguard a headache like the one above.

I went down three times yesterday to catch them moving it,  but sadly I missed it,    they have a call out for the owner of Facebook,   and in the mean time they have dragged it up one of the creeks that boats go to die.

Still cant see how it got there,   it doesnt make sense as it was moored in the middle of the river.

Would it have been the outgoing, or incoming tide that deposited it there?  Can't tell which way is downstream from your shot.

Outgoing tide would have put it there.

It would have been great to film the extraction attempts.

Thats what I thought too,  but sadly I missed them,   juggling too many things yesterday to just go and wait to see what happened.

Yikes, that's definitely not good.  Needless to say the boat owner will not be happy and no doubt the Coast Guard either.

I spoke to the owner yesterday,   he was really miffed how it got from its centre to mooring to stuck under the bridge,   he was moaning about some damaged to the stanchions,  which now makes sense to me as Id seen the coastguard change how it was moored a few weeks ago,  and it would appear they went over the stanchions and safety wire with the mooring line which wore the line away and the boat drifted away.     I didnt mention that to the owner,  partly is was so noisy we were struggling to communicate.
