It's never one I've put in, it's always a factory fitted screw on the props put in by DJI.

Once again despite buying a proper screwdriver, when out the other day one of the props took a battering from something in the air causing a split to one of the props and a very slight nick to the other.

First one came off no problem and replaced fine, the other one the dreaded thread immediately twisted and has lost all purchase, and it is now stuck and the prop can not be removed.

The last time this happened, I had to cut off the plastic base of the prop until it could be freed, not a nice job with such a delicate piece of kit.

Why oh why do you use these cheap nasty screws, DJI, they are rubbish as are the screwdrivers you supply.

This is not a good thing to have to do to your drone, so if anyone can offer a better solution in getting this stuck screw out I'd be most grateful.

Regards

It is possible that the screws have been updated. I have seen photos where the head is chamfered and I think sits slightly proud, meaning the head might be deeper and so too might the cross slot.
Are your props old stock that came with the drone ?
If the blade is scrap grip the top with pliers or wire cutters and crush the top of the blade hub  to the screw's head then twist etc etc.

Note, crush just the top of the blade hub, NOT its entirity, you are seeking to grip only the screw's head, NOT any boss on the motor.

Thank you for your replies.

The screws were factory fitted, I've been quite lucky with my props and only had to replace one set before, and the same happened, one got stuck.

Before I did as suggested, crushed the screw once you can get access to it but it's not easy and is very fiddly. A nightmare in other words.

This is not an uncommon problem and I've seen several others on here posting with the same problem. I hoped buying a new decent driver would avoid this but it hasn't due to the inferior rubbish screws used by DJI

Cheers

Hi there,

We are sorry to hear about your experience. Could you please confirm whether you are using the screwdriver provided in the aircraft package for mounting the propellers?  It is important to use the screwdriver provided to avoid damaging the screws.

That is the problem for everyone, the screwdriver DJI supply is rubbish.

Like most people I brought a recommended replacement.

It's the screws that are no good, cheap product that isn't up to the job.

Exactly, if it wasn't my drone I'd be laughing too at that reply.

It's like they have totally ignored everyone on here in the past saying how useless the screwdriver is, and how the cheap screws are also not fit for purpose.

Cheers
