I am a new owner of a osmo action 4.  I bought a couple of new batteries recently but when fitted, they both report that the battery is abnormal and the camera wont record.  Looking for help seems to suggest a firmware update is required, but as the camera is new it was only updated a couple of weeks ago as part of the unboxing procedure.  I have my settings set to auto update also.  So, I'm skeptical that this is the issue, but to be sure i thought I'd force an update if I can, but I cannot see a way of doing this.  Any advice on my issue or its resolution greatfully received.

Hi Mark Jackson3,

We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. For further assistance, could you please confirm if the new batteries you purchased are DJI Osmo Action 4 batteries? If can, please try switching the battery with the original Osmo Action 4 battery. Additionally, please provide a screenshot of the error message you received indicating that the battery is abnormal and the camera won't record.

For further checking regarding the firmware version, could you please confirm that the firmware version of the Osmo Action 4 is v01.04.07.10?

We look forward to your response.

I never heard of such a problem with the original batteries.
Can you please share a photo of the batteries you've bought?

The mimo app is telling me the latest version is installed and ive managed to check the number against that reported on the camera, and its the same.  When the original battery is installed the camera works well.  I'd have thought third party batteries should work particularly if specific to the camera make and model. Any advice?

Thank you for informing us. Please note that we do not recommend using third-party batteries with the devices, as we cannot guarantee their compatibility and safety. We strongly recommend using official batteries.

Additionally, please note that any damage caused by using DJI products with non-DJI products or unauthorized third-party accessories will not be covered by the official warranty.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
