Imagine crashing it into one of those piles of junk materials. It would take weeks, if ever, to find your machine. Nice flying.

Excellent location with some nice obstacles for the Avata 2 to navigate through.  Superb flying skills demonstrated.

Yogi, you're not kidding, I flew with my heart in my throat, which if I feel like that then what's the fun of it?
I had gone there to fly the Avata2 once before and did not plan on taking another chance but I got home and realized I had forgotten to switch from photo to video! So back once more and most likely not again since the junkyard is inaccessible when it's closed.

Downtown, I appreciate the kind words and I seem to think I can fly like those who perform "daredevilish tricks" on YouTube but I need to remind myself that my motor skills and reaction times are quite dated.  But in a year or two when my Avata2 is dated like me then I may try more riskier flights.
BTW, I flew the Avata2 at my RC club to film my buddies flying their planes. the videos were okay but they could improve if the three pilots flying simultaneously would try to coordinate their turns so it would look much more coordinated.

you mean the whole flips and split S turns and stuff. I watched a tutorial on YT and just did it. It was nerve racking at first but the more you practice the easier it gets. Start up high to begin with and practice in a sim beforehand but don't practice too much

Well they do say practice makes perfect so no doubt in due time you'll have it mastered.

It's nice that your RC club allows drones to fly at it.  The one closest to me does not.  They have a sign out front that says RC Club Members only and NO drones allowed.  It's just a good old boys club that is set in their ways.

That's a popular sentiment among the local clubs in my area too. I got lucky here. It helps that I make videos of fellow members flights. This way they are happy to see my drones and I get to fly without any negativity. I added this link here to show what was filmed the other day. The problem was the three pilots were not coordinated and trying to keep them in view was challenging Next opportunity I will get them to make a better effort. I have another video with one pilot and performing a few tricks. Mind you he's really just starting to do tricks, we have some other really great trick pilots. Here's Pete's flight

I just started trying out your advice a week ago, I go up to over 120 feet and switch over to Manual.
I have been able to fly for a good 3 minutes no problem. but I want to be able to come down to 20 feet or less and that's where it gets hairy trying to keep her from going down. I know with a few more trys, I'll get it as soon as he weather provide some good days to practice. I understand when people crash it takes time and practice.

Da' did you lose the Avatas recently? I recall enjoying your posts not that long ago, What about the
Flywoo Explorer? still have it? Sorry to hear that.
Remember, I had "lost" my Avata2 at our RC club field but I would've found it if not a passerby picked it as soon as if fell then held it hostage for 2 weeks before collecting the reward.

Lower the pitch angle to around 10 degrees to slow the drone when you come down closer to the ground. You'll find it easier to control. Then increase the pitch angle/speed as you gain more confidence and experience.

I didnt,   I was 600ft away from the drone over a canal,    the goggles lost video and the drone clipped a branch and went into ATTI mode,   I push both sticks forward to climb out to get signal back only to actually nose dive it into the canal as there was no warning given that the mode had changed.

What a 'bummer'. Have you given up on the AV2 completely then, or, getting anther one? Surely it's not pilot error if the screen went blank. Can you not try for a 'flyaway' with Dji? 600ft away and losing video is not good!

Sadly not,   two girls on SUPs tried but that part of the canal was too deep for their paddles to reach the bottom.

AJ, I flew in manual and adjusted the gimble to -10 degrees. I made the assumption you meant -10 degrees only because that's what I keep seeing from the youtubers. Let me know if that's what you meant.  Anyway, I had a good flight in manual and even flew as low as 20 feet AGL. My question is what is the maximum speed in manual of the Avata2?
I saw a video on YT where the pilot stated he got up to 65mph. The max speed I have done is 37mph but I have not unchecked the gimbal feature yet. Is that what will make it go faster?
