Hi,

I have always used my Osmo Pocket 3 with dLog color profile.

Now i noticed it is switched to HLG (i might switched to it by accident).

Is it somehow shown in media info wheather is the file recorded in HLG or DLog?

Many thanks!

Hello,
I have the same camera for over three months and the first I've shot on HLG but after a chat with a video producer he advised me to move on Dlog ar 4k with 25fps for normal videos and 4k with 50fps for slow-motion.
I'm currently low on time, learning to edit the videos, but I will start making tests.
Regards!

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

When using Osmo Pocket 3 in Video mode, HLG in the color setting of the PRO menu refers to HDR, as HLG is an HDR standard. The HLG mode supports the same range of frame rates as normal recording, that is, up to a maximum of 4K/60fps. Starting with firmware version v01.02.06.04, users can record slow motion videos at 120fps with support for D-Log M and HLG color modes. Osmo Pocket 3 defaults to capturing HDR photos, and does not have access to HDR mode.

DLog-M allows the camera sensor to record enough dynamic range. You can process color grade easier during post processing. DLog-M is developed based on D-Log, the colors are distributed evenly so the bright and dark parts of the video have greater fidelity and clarity. Hope this helps.

Should you have any further questions, kindly message us for assistance. Thank you.

Okay, thank you very much!

My original question was aimed for something different though: is there a way during post-process phase (on computer) to tell that file1 is recorded with HLG and file2 was recorded with DLOG?

Yes, there is a way.
I don't know if we can share links, so I will just mention the name of a free program that gives this info.
It's called MediaInfo.
Once you install it, for the first time, drag your video to it and select the Tree option.
You should be able to see if the file is HLG or not.
The file should appear as BT.2020 HLG.
