Hello, I just got a Mini 3 with a DJI RC (I used to have a Mavic Air and before that, a Phantom 3 Advanced).
I am a little confused as to why the DJI Fly app won't cache all videos. Photos are cached just fine, incuding panoramas and the like. Everything is on the latest version.


I have a 32 GB card inside the remote, and a 128 GB card inside the drone. The drone works as expected, but the remote only cached the first two videos on the first day, and then it stopped; photos are cached on the remote's SD as expected.

I tried removing it, and the DJI Fly app won't let me enable Auto Sync HD Photos, nor Cache When Recording, saying that I need to insert an SD card into the remote. I put the card, and both options were re-activated automatically, with the Max Video Capacity set to Auto (I had also tried 16 GB just to be sure).

Is there something else I'm supposed to do for the app to cache videos? I know that the real deal is the videos on the drone's card, but the low-res cached clips would be great for quickly sharing with friends, as opposed to having to download gigantic 4K videos.

Any hints would be most welcome!

Have you enabled the caching option in settings?

yes, "Cache when Recording" was activated automatically when I (re)-inserted the microSD into the RC remote.

Yes, I checked and didn't find any cached videos. I'm using RC 2 Mini 4 Pro, Fly version 13.10.

Thanks for checking! It's really odd, the first two videos got cached and then it stopped. I tried reformatting the SD card yesterday, but I won't be able to fly until the weekend to test it.

There is no need to fly outdoors, you can simply turn on the recording indoors and even take off if necessary.

That's true, I just wanted to give it a go in an actual flight setting. In any case, I tried at home and it doesn't seem to cache video.

To confirm, if the video frame rate is set higher than 30fps, no cached video will be saved. If the video frame rate was not higher than 30fps and you still did not see it, please follow this path in the SD card folder to find it.
