I try to land with no less than 15% left on the battery to try and keep the battery's health up but on occasion I've landed with about 1% only left.

My only beef with DJI batteries is the nag you get after they've been charged 200 or so times.  You simply can't get rid of the nag even if the battery is still working properly.  Guess that is DJI's way to market replacement batteries.

Sounds like the typical insurance company.  I'm a retired lawyer and I sued several insurance companies over the years.  Most are willing to settle out of court but a few are hardheaded and wouldn't negotiate.  Fortunately, i was able to prevail more than not in the trial cases.  Personally I feel insurance is a rip off but what can you do when the law says you have to have it for certain things.

yea so basically if I hit a tree no issue but because I told the truth as it landed I was told we wont pay out
