For Avata 2 I've set the FPV RC3 C2 button double press to turtle mode.Changing to Neo and back to Avata 2 will delete this setting. DJI please fix that!

BTW: why is there no turtle mode with Neo?

Please answer my primary question!!

Why is switching between Neo and Avata overwriting my FPV RC3 controller button settings?
Similar problem on RC2 (the one with display). If I set a function to the right wheel for Neo, it also overwrites my setting for Air 3 (where I have Zoom on the wheel).
It seems all your controllers do not save button configurations per model, which is INSANE!

I've just tested this and can confirm it - if you have set a button (double press C2) at the FPV3 for Avata2 to turtle mode and fly the NEO, after that if you want to fly Avata2 again the setting is gone :-(

That certainly sound bonkers. Thanks for the warning, I will check now after swithing what’s been messed up!
EDIT: After switching back to the Avata sure enough the double press C2 setting for turtle mode was deleted.

I get that the Neo doesn't have the mode, but it's a bit frustrating if you have the avata set to use it on a button that they disable it.

It would be no issue to just disable the function when operating the Neo, but not remove it from the config.
There are way more functions on the Avata 2 so I am concerned as to what else it resets when switching from the Neo Back to the Avata.

Cute bug. As for why Neo has no turtle mode, it's likely because these small motors with small props would blow out the small ESCs while trying to flip the thing. It's very common on micro drones to destroy ESCs by turtling and it's generally only recommended when there's no other way to retrieve the drone, yet people still ignore that and then complain when it dies. I imagine DJI anticipated this and doesn't wanna deal with it. Maybe if they did it behind like 5 warning prompts or something, one of which would be "I give up my right to claim warranty"...

It's not the C2 Button alone. It's every button/switch/wheel across FPV RC3 and RC2.
It seems DJI save only one configuration per controller, not one per drone model like it should be. Mostly you would not recognize this issue, because most people set the same functions on same inputs across their models. But it comes to a problem when you operate a Neo which has no turtle mode or camera zoom.

Have a Flylens 85 with 1003 14800KV, same size motors like Neo. Still acro beginner, I need crash flip mode a lot and no problems yet.Betaflight f.e. has a protection called 'set osd_esc_rpm_alarm' which gives you a warning, but DJI could also just shut off the motors in turtle if they do not spin with expected RPMs in case something is blocking.

As a sidenote yes. The big issue here is that when you switch drones settings get deleted.

Yes, and I was answering that side note since no one else did, and you went on to tell me "Not sure if anyone asked for the Neo to turtle.", not sure what your point is here? I can't do anything about the big issue.

To small and lacks power. Or can you make it turtle?
We could put in a feature request delivered thru coming firmware update,

As I already mentioned in this thread I have a Flylens 85 with same size motors.
While I cannot turtle if its flat on bottom, (there your're right), crashflip is still usefull for me if hanging head down in the trees.

What I find really annoying is switching the neo between N3 and G3. My wife uses N3 but I like G3 so our neo switches back and forth. Every single time I have to enable manual mode again. Apparently if you rebind you have to reenable this ... even thought this should be a setting that sticks with the controller 3 and should be independent.
