I have seen suggestions of changing the camaera settings (sharpness and noise), this supposedly improving video quality. If the settings are changed in the DJI fly app when using a controller will the modified settings remain when using the drone subsequently without the controller, i.e. in the AI tracking etc?

I'm wondering, as well, is that possible? Because most YouTube reviewers say that the sharpness and NR settings are locked in the Neo. Isn't that the case?

Apparently when using a controller the sharpness and NR can be changed in the controller menu settings but I'm wondering if these settings are lost once the NEO is used without the controller. Does that make sense, am I explaining myself sufficiently?

Interesting. I am not sure and I can't test because I don't own one either.
Let's hope someone who owns one can try and confirm/deny this claim!

Yes, you change shaprness and noise reduction with rremote controller, but not on mobile phone. And the setting are lost if you don't use the controller

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

The camera of DJI Neo supports noise reduction and sharpness adjustment. Please refer below for your reference.

A. Via Goggles: Open the goggles’ menu, select Settings > Camera > Advanced Camera Settings, and adjust Sharpness or Noise Reduction options.

B. Via DJI Fly: On the camera view, select “···” > Camera > Style, and adjust Sharpness or Noise Reduction options.

Should you have any other questions, kindly message us here for assistance. Thank you.

It definitely isn't an option on the App on my phone (Android 1.14.1), I suspect it is only available if you are connected via a controller (or maybe requires iOS?)

We desperately need to be able to control the sharpness and saturation as both are off scale and make the footage horrendous.  These also need to be persistent settings - the whole premise of this drone is that it can fit in our pocket and be used without a controller and that really isn't the case at the moment.

From my initial play with it this morning, I love the drone itself and the way it works - but please sort it out so we can actually take useable video.

Yes please make these settings accessible. I mistakenly thought my Neo would be compatible with my existing RC RM330 remote and it isn't - so I'm happy using the preset modes but need to decrease that sharpness!

There is no longer an option to change sharpness- neither on the DJI Fly app or through the RC-N3 controller. Is it a firmware update issue? I have the latest firmware both on the Neo and the controller. What has happened??

Those options are definitely in the 1.14.2 version using the RC-N2/3/RC2 (RC Control). But someone pointed that they were already included in the Mobile App Control and that's not a thing (yet?).

IMO, EV setting is far more important rn. But an update with all the settings from the RC Control would be more than welcome.

If you don't connect a controller your options to change settings are minimal

If you connect an RC or Goggles - you can do more

If you disconnect RC or Goggles and reconnect those setting stick

If you connect to a mobile phone (no RC or Goggles) they do not.

Connect back to RC or Goggles and they are back.

Clearly different profiles.

This has been discussed to death on Neopilots forum - trust me - you can change camera settings and save them ONLY with RC or Goggles.

It is not a matter of connecting a controller and new options appearing. Mobile App Control and RC Control are two completely different things, even if you could use the RC-N2/3 for both. In fact, once you connect the gamepad, Mobile App Control will tell you that the phone is changing to RC Control.

OP is not talking about that, tho. He is asking for settings (RV, sharpening, noise, etc) to be stored in Palm Control mode, which is another entirely different thing from those two. Which of course would be desirable since, to begin with, exposition is all over the place in the Auto settings of the Palm Control mode.

At least DJI should give a config file in the internal memory to tweak these settings. If they don't want to add the option to DJI Fly.

There is no sharpness adjustment via my RC camera settings for neo! I don't know what's wrong?

I cant believe the camera settings cant be changed in the app w/o a controller. I finished up a video and the Neo footage looks like hot garbage compared to the mini 3. I read that reducing the sharpening and noise would make it look better but this morning I discovered my RCN1 (I thought I had a 2) isnt compatible with the Neo and thus I can not access the detailed camera settings outside of the 4k/1080 and fps. Super lame.

Unfortunately, they don't stick. Once you use the drone on its own (or with a phone), the sharpness and noise settings revert back to factory.

This is ridiculous that we can't change the settings for palm activated QuickShots. How can we get this feature request prioritised or is there a way I can make the modifications (like to the firmware?) ourselves?

The only way I know is to request it here. DJI actually listens and they do have a history of improving their products through firmware updates.

Here's what I'd like to add to the list:
1) 24fps in both 4k and HD
2) Dlog-m (or at the very least, D-Cinelike... or any other flat color profile).
