I noticed the same thing as was also puzzled as to why DJI would do this.  It will be interesting to see what response you get.

Thanks for your feedback. We have adjusted our sales strategies and provide corresponding combos in different regions based on our preliminary user research and different usage habits of users in various regions. Don’t worry. DJI Neo is the first DJI vlogging device which does not need a remote controller. It features palm takeoff and landing, and supports functions such as AI Subject Tracking and QuickShots.

When using DJI Neo solely, the only thing you need to do before taking it off from your palm is pressing the mode button on the top and selecting a mode, then it will automatically perform camera movements for shooting. When it completes, it can land on your palm as well, allowing beginners to master it without threshold.

NOT answering the question I posted..  I know all about the 'NO RC needed'.. but for distance you need it.. all other countries include the RC .. AGAIN why NOT the Neo Combo sold in the US Market??

I understand your request and will forward it to the strategy department. And for your information, DJI Neo can be used with the following control devices:
1. Remote Controller: DJI Neo can be used with DJI RC-N3, DJI RC 2 and DJI RC-N2 with O4 video transmission technology.
2. Motion Controller: DJI Neo can be used with DJI RC Motion 3 and DJI Goggles 3 with O4 video transmission technology.
3. FPV Remote Controller: DJI Neo can be used with DJI FPV Remote Controller 3 and DJI Goggles 3 with O4 video transmission technology.
So users can fly the drone with the controller mentioned above if they already have it. Thank you for your attention and understanding.

So based on your research, US users don't use/need remote when using their dji drones? I wonder how many people were involved in this "research". I'm guessing it's all DJI enployees involved in budget/finance.

I think the worst way to use DJI Neo is with a smartphone.
And that is because the DJI app is really bad.
This is because:
1) No horizontal screen...seriously?
But then where the controls will be???
They will be overlayed...you know like it is with games.

2) No analog virtual controls...are you guys lazy or something?

3) Can't use both virtual sticks together...insane huh?

4) It's super slow...but with controls that bad and a miniature screen what do you expect?

However I think DJI had in mind that this drone would be flew most of the time solo without smartphone.
