I am not sure if this has been discussed - I did search but came up with nothing, but that's no doubt my inexperience with forums.

My point (finally) is why are they not offering a Neo fly more package without the controller? I have a ton of these drones and spare controllers as I tend to use just one for all of them - I would buy this Neo if I could get the extra batteries and the unit without the controller, but as it stands, I am not going to buy it as I don't want the controller and the extra money that entails.

I think DJI should get into it as I think it would be a more attractive price point.

on the other hand some US people claim that in DJI Store they can only order "Neo Combo" (which is Flymore without RC)

They should really offer "Neo Combo" in Europe too, at least in DJI Store.

This is true. We have no option to buy it with a controller, which has caused a lot of upset people who want the Fly More Combo that the rest of the world has access to.

For me, I'm OK with that as I'd rather use the RC2 controller. Hopefully DJI keeps the "Combo" available for future drones with no controller.

Yeah, now that everything is gonna be O4 and compatible with multiple controllers, it's really beyond time they start selling drones only again.

No need or interest in the Neo Tx that comes bundled in non-USA combo kits. Bit like my initial feeling of the MC3 controller that was packaged with the Avata2 Fly More Combo kit. Went with the USA Combo kit to save a few $$$s on purchasing couple additional batteries and the charger.  Glad not to waste $s on the RCN3.  Avata2 is the only other DJI platform used. The $199 FPV RC3 is what I would prefer over the  $129 RC N3 controller.  Guessing a chunk of the USA market are people who the Neo is either first time DJI users looking for a "selfie drone", intro quad happy to try just using their smart phones,  or already have a RCN2, RC2, FPV RC3, and/or MC3.

Bottomline. Personally prefer the flexibility to use the compatible controller owned or  add your controller of choice to the USA DJI Neo Combo kit.

Yup, like the RC plane world's BNF. This is the way.

Only have updated the Google3/Avata2/MC3 once back in April. Noticed that the last updates are necessary to use the MC3 and G3 with the Neo.  Just completed the firmware update.  Like the 04, G3 system of direct hardwire connection of your smart phone to the G3 allowing updating of all components in one process.  Did I miss a firmware update notice for the FPV RC3 for Neo use?  Saw a post noting that the Neo is compatible with that controller.  + to DJI for making the Neo compatible with a variety of already existing controllers from day1.

My only issue is living in very rural USA. 7.86Mbps download speed today. Which is actually faster than the normal 7 Mbps. Too frugal to upgrade to StarLink or Hugh Sat. Took a bit of time.  Price for being a cheapo.

Ready to fly once the Neo arrives and is activated. Need to refill the UAS funding account once again to purchase the FPV RC3 and a 4th Avata2 and  maybe Neo battery.  I appreciate that DJI Neo charging hub is more or less a parallel charger vs. the Avata2 charging hub only able to charge in series.  Hopefully the next gen Avata2 charging hub will be capable of handling at least a 120watt power source and charge the batteries in parallel.

In the "ideal" DJI world.  Build your own bundle with discounts for purchasing at the same time.  More pieces you purchase, the larger the discount.  And BNF and add hardware when wanted or needed. Probably would add too much of logistics, stocking, packaging headache for DJI.

There was definitely an update to FPV RC 3 for Neo support. Try connecting your goggles to phone again and only have goggles and FPV RC 3 powered on. If the update doesn't appear automatically in DJI Fly, go to your Profile -> Settings -> Firmware Update -> Check for Firmware Updates. Or check what it says in goggles about your firmware versions, the latest ones with Neo support are as follows:

  • DJI Goggles 3 Firmware: V01.00.0400
  • DJI RC Motion 3 Firmware: V01.00.0200
  • DJI FPV Remote Controller 3 Firmware: V01.00.0300

Thanks. Still haven't purchased the FPV RC3.  Guessing since no FPV RC3 was linked to the G3 the app realized no need to update that specific piece of hardware.

With the FPV RC3 are rates and expos tunable for the Neo like the Avata2?  Wondering if the issue is  more than lack of power making the Neo difficult to loop.  Maybe the rates need to be boosted and expo reduced?

Be sort of cool if the Neo is capable of a "one design" micro quad racing.  Set defined course. Only options would users controller of choice. Submit your time by submitting the video and metadata confirming your run to an online data base.  If popular. Maybe DJI would sponsor regional or National actual live events.  Basically tiny whoop racing, but Neo only platform.

Yes. But looks like your rates are shared between all aircraft you use.

Neo spec racing would be cool, 100% agree.

Not for me. I already checked rates/expos after I found the bug with the buttons/wheels.
I've now just tested again with FPV RC3, I can save different rates/expos for Neo and Avata 2.
But maybe you could countercheck.

I assume the expo/rate is stored directly in Neo or Avata 2, while the buttons/wheel config in stored in one common file on controller/goggles.

Funny, the reason I assumed rates were shared was because of the turtle button being reset bug that you found. Will check if it ever stops raining again

That’s mad that they don’t offer that in UK. I would buy this for £199 with extra bateries and no controller! Off on travels in a few weeks and would love to take something this size and not my Air 3.

Neo without RC + 2 extra Batteries + Charging Hub is 268 GBP
Neo Fly More is 299 GBP

So you could buy Flymore and sell the RC-N3, I've seen some sold on ebay for 85€ (72 GBP), which is insane...

One issue I had for years and why I avoided DJI products until they released the Avata2  was the relative price, difficult for user repair and sourcing parts, close source software, and the way the products are "bundled".

Pricing for digital quality fpv is more or less competitive. Have become lazy and wasteful with old age. Just fly, crash, more or less trash/salvage, and replace.
Personally basically down to one niggle. The "bundling" of products. Bit weird that DJI has a USA "fly more combo" and non-USA "fly more combo" package.  DJI, why not just the USA package and allow  user to purchase if needed, wanted the controller of their choice????  Real happy the USA package did not include the RC-N3.

Buy the drone only, 2 batteries and the charging hub. It the same price as the flymore kit but you don’t get the controller.
