From what understand. ATTI mode is "altitude" mode. No optical or other sensors to maintain position of the quad?  Basically like other brands of quads that require user stick input to maintain position? If so, hitting the hold button has no effect?

Avata 2 user who just ordered a Neo for more or less indoors flying. Have flown the Avata2 when first purchased last April indoors under N mode with zero satellites captured. Steel roof on house blocks sat reception. It seemed real stable relative to other quads flown. Maybe the downward optical sensors were still functioning. Don't remember if any ATTI Mode warning flashed up on the Goggle3 display.  Hope is to be able to fly the Neo indoors this winter season.

Not altitude mode,  but attitude mode,

Thanks for the correction.

So optical sensors as well as GPS connections are unavailable in ATTI mode?  More like manual, but with whatever angle limits set (aka Angle or Horizon Mode for everyone else but DJI).  Can the Neo be user set to ATTI mode for indoors flying?  The couple times I have flown the Avata2 inside the house the GPS had zero sat.  Don't recall any OSD info noting in ATTI mode.  No real drift in N mode. Was impressed with how locked into position the Avata2 was after it auto launched to the hover position.

In ATTI mode just the GPS is removed from the sensors that are available.    If the GPS is weak the drone will switch to this automatically,    Theres no way to do this manually.     If you have the FPV controller you can fly manual mode but you'll get no assist from the sensors,    not recommended indoors if you're not skilled.

Thanks for the information.  Great. Auto ATTI mode with no need to manual set was what I hoped for. No stick skills to fly manual indoors.   Plan is just to fly the Neo indoors under N and S Mode.

Noted that DJI Neo with the FPV RC3 allows all three modes. N, S, M.  Updated the firmware of the Avata2 kit to allow flying the Neo with the G3 and MC3.  First firmware update since early April.  Haven't really looked at any of the details of the update.  Still assuming using the FPV RC3 flying the Avata2 you are limited to just N and M modes or N and S?  When I first saw that it seemed weird. Now more so if the Neo can fly N,S, and M mode using the RC3.  Next item on the "list" is the FPV RC3.  The Neo purchase depleted the DJI funds for awhile.

FPV RC3 on the Avata will fly all three modes,   If you fly manual you might want to release the spring tension using the screws in the back,  if not just remember not to left go of the left stick whilst flying or you might accelerate.

v1 of the FPV RC3 manual on page 17 notes the  rocker switch  2 Custom Mode: "The custom mode can be set to Manual or Sport ".  Section followed setting up the RC3 to manual mode (page14).  Confused me. Thought you could only have N and either S or M mode. Thanks for the clarification.
DJI "normal" stick position is a bid different coming from the non-DJI world. Friend who's first and proably only UAS is a MiniPro4 only flies Cine and N. Thought the throttle stick positions dead center vs. down for "neutral" was weird.  Sort of makes sense now for newbie and beginner mode. Don't think I would like that set up. Too many hours flying trad quads and fixed wing platforms might confuse me at the wrong time. I would set the sticks to DJI "manual" position even if only flying C,N, or S.

The rocker is N / S / M although you have to go into the setting to activate the M mode first.

If the owners manual v1 is the latest I'm ready to set up the RC3.  Will check DJI to see if I need to download an updated manual.
I've adapted to using the MC3 for freeflying the Avata2.  Initially I thought, uggh.  Like flying with too much expo and very low rates.  I understand the positive of the MC3 for newbies.  Allows for a user without any previous stick time to fly. For Neo flying indoors or on a race course a trad Tx would feel better.

I really didnt get along with the MC3 and the Avata,   tried it a couple of time and really didnt feel like I had the same about of control.
