Hi , has anyone lese had major issues in trying to connect and fly their DJI Neo using the supplied RC controler (RC-N3) supplied in the 'Fly more' pack?

I bought the fly more pack, which included the new RC-N3 controller and after numeroua attempts to set it up, it will not connect to the aircraft at all! and I can't see what the problem is. When using the DJI Fly app (latest version installed)  I select the 'Connect with RC only' under the connection guide, then it will only get to page 1/3 'pairing the Remote controller' and that's as far as it gets ? the pairing proceedure and it won't go any further than that (step 1) - it will not connect to or recognise the aircraft. I read somewhere that as it's part of the flymore pack the aircraft and controler should arrive already paired, but this doesn't seem to be th case as it asked for me to slect an aircraft type straight off and the took me down the 'pairing' route.


So after a week I have a nice little paper weight instead of a drone! and clumps of hair lying all over my desk, pulled out in utter frustration !


Has anyone any ideas what I'm missing or is it a faulty RC unit ?

We apologize for the inconvenience. If you purchase a DJI Neo Combo, the remote controller is already linked to DJI Neo upon shipment. You can use them directly after activation upon powering on. In other cases, please refer to the following.

Link DJI Neo to a remote controller:
1. Power on DJI Neo and the remote controller before linking, and keep the distance between DJI Neo and the remote controller within half a meter.
2. Connect the remote controller to your smartphone, then open the DJI Fly app.
3. Tap Connection Guide on the bottom right corner of the DJI Fly app, select the device, then follow the on-screen instructions to press and hold the power button on the device until the voice prompt sounds, and wait until the linking is complete after tapping “Pair”.
4. After linking successfully, the app will turn to the liveview.

Could you please confirm which drone model you are using? Please adjust the remote controller heading to raise or control the aircraft to fly away from obstacles and thus avoid the signal obstruction.

The Neo is not shown as a device to select when the phone is connected to the controller. It is when only the iPhone is used.

another reason not to get the neo..

The problem is with the cable.. I too had the problem and it just worked when I used a Samsung cable...

The cable is broken which is supplied in the remote...

I have same issue, however, Neo and remote were purchased separately. Brand new though. Cannot link the remote. Seriously discouraged. First Dji drone too. Not happy. Tried everything. Firmware updated on remote. Tired other cables. Tried DJI Assistant. Nothing works. Hoping someone posts something that will help. Or just going to send it back and share off dji.

This does not work!

I fixed this issue for myself by swapping out the USB-C cable that was included with the RC-N3 controller with a Samsung branded USB-C cable. I own a Samsung Galaxy S23 and the USB-C cable that was included with the remote doesn't work for my phone. DJI may want to look into this and do some more thorough testing with actual devices. I coiled up the 3ft cable that I'm using, so it's not as pretty looking, but I can now download the firmware update and control my drone.

Hello, after the recent farmware updgrade, my rc n3 (got with fly more combo)is not connecting with dji neo. I can use the contrller to manually fly the drone but no camera view. Need a solution.

Hello I have the same issue.

I can use to fly the DJI neo, but don't show anything with cam and the view cam show a message "controller it's not connected"

Morning finally it's working but I downgrade to the version.02 in the DJI neo

How do you downgrade firmware to version 2? I have the same issue

Brand new neo, and remote... Will not connect tryed everything, but the remote connects to my other drones just fine. So frustrating!

Some issue here. Also I am on the latest OSX version which isn't letting me install the desktop DJI Assistant app that was suggested above.

Are you using DJI RC-N1 with DJI Mini 2? If so, it is not compatible with DJI Neo. If you want to know whether the accessories of the aircraft are universal/compatible, such as batteries, remote controls, chargers, etc., please refer to the article below for help.

Just bot the DJI RC 2 and the DJI Neo.  They will not pair.  I've downloaded the latest firmware.  When "connecting to aircraft" the controller will try to connect then it will show "Unable to connect to aircraft" Next I  held  the Neo power button down for 4 secs but the aircraft did not beep.  Any ideas?

I had the same problem after the recent upgrade to V.01.00.0400.  The firmware upgrade appeared to have gone OK and I could fly using my phone but RC-N3 that cam with the combo would no longer connect. I did a firmware refresh using DJI Assistant 2 just in case - but still no connection with RC-N3. It would appear that the firmware upgrade breaks the pairing. My RC-N3 was already paired originally because it came in the combo. I had to manually re-pair controller and Neo and now everything works OK again.

Are the RC and Neo definitely paired? Please note that this is a separate process from simply switching the Neo on. You later have to put it into pairing mode by holding down the on/off button.

What a hot mess! I updated my Neo's firmware today (Nov 15/24) and wasn't able to connect the RC-N3 controller to it. Swapped the cable with the one from my Potensic Atom drone and now it connects, but no live feed!?!?!? Downgraded the Neo's firmware via the DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) program, that's installed on my PC, and now the RC-N3 controller connects. This needs fixing A.S.A.P.!!!

When I upgraded the firmware it broke the pairing. You need to re-pair. A bit of a pain but it worked for me.
