I don't see it mentioned on the DJI site... but is there a GPS receiver built into the Inspire 1 remotes?

Dji-Tim , can i use inspire radio with P3 and use the gps on radio and have full functions ?

Is this module something that P3 users can buy and install for the follow me function?  I assume the module would be very cheap and a great upgrade for those of us that dont have a cellular device (ipad without GPS).

P3's RC has no GPS module but use the phone/tablet's GPS to enable follow me function

What's the logic!

I am very disappointed that Inspire 1 doesn't have follow me function

there are two 3rd party apps that offer it, Autopilot on apple and Litchie? on android. unsure of the spelling for the android one.  Dji is scared of that feature on the inspire, they say its too large and heavy and they dont want the liability of it hitting something while using auto flight functions, thats also why you must fly your waypoints manually before you can fly them in auto mode.  Seems like an unnecessary hassle but it will ensure the waypoint flight path is free of crash inducing obstacles.

You will not be able to use the gps function of the inspire remote for the p3. The only function you will gain is the HDMI out option.

from the RC i believe, however some claim they can also use the tablet gps or 3rd party bluetooth connected to the tablet gps device for better accuracy, personally ive not used either app.

I am agree with this. it makes sense for DJI not to have this functions. It can actually hurt people!

Correct, you can use the smart devices GPS.
