When I start DJI fly app, it comes up
with the following message

Something went wrong with DJI Fly

DJI fly closed because this app has a bug.

Try updating this app after its developer provides a fix for this error.

Then it has a button labeled "Got it",
when you click it, the app closes.

DJI fly app version 1.13.10

I am running the app on my Samsung Galaxy S23
"One UI version": 6.1  Android version 14

On Sept 7, 2024 everything was working fine.

On Sept 19, 2024 I noticed this error.

I have not upgraded anything on the DJI fly app

I have updated my phone.
I have heard the phone update brought several new features including
improvements in AI functionality, but also seems to have caused
some compatiblity issues for certain apps (samMobile/Samsung News).

Is anyone else having this issue?

Does anyone know anything about this?

Hello. Please check the App Version, and ensure the App version is up to date. Please try to turn off the network and launch the DJI app. Skip the login step. Kill the app and then open the network.
* If the issue persists after the above solution has been tried, please check whether the device is on the compatibility list. Use a compatible device.

Thank you for your reply; it is helpful.   Now I am really thinking it has something to do
with the Samsung Android update.

I downloaded the DJI Fly app from their website and tried to install it on my Samsung A54, but it says that the app was built for an older version of Android and it is blocked because it is insecure..

Hi there.

Please consider the suggestions provided below.

1. Please download the latest version of the APP from the DJI official website:
https://www.dji.com/uk/downloads/djiapp/dji-fly

Hi there.

Please consider the suggestions provided below.

Your suggested fix worked and fixed the problem.

Here are the details.
I went to the link you provided here.
I selected Android and scanned the QR code provided on the screen.
I downloaded and installed the app.
The new app is version 1.14.2
Everything worked fine. I took it out for a test flight,
and it worked fine.
Also, I was happy to see that the
upgrade did not disturb any of my existing flight
data.
As for the Samsung phone,
I have kept it the same since I made this post.

Hello. You can refer to the following suggestions.
1. Go to the mobile phone’s “System Settings” and find “Installing an Unknown Application”. Enable the “Allow application installation from this source” switch.
2. Check the mobile phone’s internal storage, and clear its cache. The remaining memory must be greater than 2GB.
3. If there is Google Play installed on this phone, please disable "Google Play Protect"
4. If the “Installing an Unknown Application” setting has been enabled, plz back up the photos and videos. Uninstall the earlier version of the app and then restart the mobile phone. Download and install the app from the DJI official website. For example, when a Google Pixel 3 (Android 12) is being used, the mobile phone needs to allow the built-in browser (such as Chrome or other browser apps) to install an unknown app.
5. If the App cannot be installed from the browser, try to find the APK file in the File Manager for installation. (Alternatively, re-download the installation package, and move it to the device’s internal storage root directly for installation.)
6. Make sure that your phone is connected to network without whitelist limitation, such company/school WLAN, etc which may disallow DJI App installation
Please keep us updated if the issue persists.

Thanks, I have now got the app downloaded on my phone - but as I have the RC controller I don't actually need it.

Mainly I am trying to find out whether 1) I need Flysafe as I have done 5 flights without and am not fussed but it - still not sure what it even is? and 2) Fascinated how all the lights went out on the craft in the dark. I do know I was recording at the time (accidentally) - does that extinguish them?

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

Please follow the steps below and see if you can isolate the issue.

1. Please download the latest version of the APP from the DJI official website instead of from Google Play.

2. Please click on "More Details" then click on "Install Anyway" to install.

3. Or you can also follow this path to turn off Google Play Protect options and test again: Google Play — Profile — Play Protect — Setting — Turn off below two options — Re-install App and test again.

Please keep us updated on the progress.
