DJI Neo Crash - ESC and Power System Errors

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to get some advice on a frustrating issue with my new DJI Neo.  I recently had a crash where the drone got caught on my shirt.  Unfortunately, I didn't notice that one of the propeller blades (the left rear propeller, A type) had snapped. I tried to fly it again, but the sound was off, so I landed it and discovered the damage.

I replaced the damaged propeller, but now I'm unable to start the drone. The front motors start properly, but the left rear motor doesn't respond at all. I'm also getting the following error codes:
  • ESC Error 1608003e
  • ESC Connection Error 16100019
  • Power System Hardware Error 16100069

I'm concerned that flying the drone with the damaged propeller blade might have caused further internal damage, specifically affecting the left rear motor or its ESC. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Any suggestions on what I could try or should I contact DJI support directly?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there i’ve got the same issue with the same codes, Did u ever get it fixed or did you send it to dji? If so how did u and how much it cost?

We are sorry to hear about what happened with the aircraft. If your aircraft has been involved in a collision or crash, the best course of action would be to submit an online repair request through the link here. This will allow our certified technicians to inspect the aircraft fully.

Regarding the repair cost, the fees are determined based on the results of your device's inspection. If a performance failure occurs due to reasons not caused by the user within the warranty period, the repair or replacement will be free of charge, depending on the circumstances.

I have the same issue and i just got my Neo.
Unfortunatly i am going on holiday coming thursday. Is sending the DJi neo really the only option???

Like i sad, i just have the drone now for 3 days and it crashed on my first try and i bought the drone especially for my holiday. If is need to send i gues it wont be back for thursday and that would be very sad escpecially i bought it for making footiage on my holiday. If i cant use it on my holiday, buying the drone would be a waste

Hi there, thank you for reaching out and we do apologize for the trouble caused. You're required to format the built-in storage. To back up the files before formatting aircraft storage, kindly connect your DJI Neo  to a computer via USB-C cable and export photos or videos from DJI Neo to the computer. You may format the storage from the " settings " .

@DJI Natalia Yesterday, my DJI Neo drone experienced an unexpected ESC error just 2-3 minutes after takeoff, at an altitude of approximately 5 meters. Following this, the gimbal ceased functioning, but there appears to be no visible damage to the body or propellers. I contacted DJI customer service, and they advised me to send the drone to their Hong Kong service center via my local authorized dealer. My drone is still under warranty until December 2025.
I am concerned about potential repair costs and would appreciate any insights into whether repairs in Hong Kong could be expensive. Could you advise on what to expect regarding warranty coverage and any possible charges that may arise during the repair process? Very nervous situation for me.

This will also provide you with information regarding shipping fees.

Here is an overview of the repair process:
1. Repair application submission: Describe the product defects and provide your personal information. Then a service case will be generated automatically for you.
2. Product sending: Ship your product to the DJI Service Center with a shipping label provided by DJI or contact an express company to mail the product back to the DJI Service Center.
3. Inspection and repair in DJI Service Center: The DJI Service Center will assess your product after receiving it and then send you a quotation. The repair process for your product will begin after you've made the payment.
