I never knew baling was so dramatic until I heard the music ;-)

I saw some of these that had been stacked a few weeks ago,  sadly the farmer got carried away this stack the size of a building had blown over.  

Great job of filming this evolution.    I'd say the large square bales have a much higher density compared to regular size or even round bales.  They should stack better also.  I've heard that the large square bale storage has a much lower fire risk, as there are fewer air gaps between the bales. No doubt large square bales will overtake round bales and small bales here in the near future.  

Are the square bales more popular because they're easier to stack?

TBH rounds are a pain as you say stacking is the biggest issue...but when you got 8x4x4 feet and chopped we are talking heavy bale weights

No doubt they are quite hefty.  Just need more automated handling equipment now.

As a retired Lawyer I was asked to participate in a Career Day at two of the local High Schools last year. They had previously unanimously polled the students as to what career paths they wanted represented at the career fair. Out of over 800 students only 3 indicated farming as a career.  The future of farming doesn't have a bright outlook for new farmers it seems.  The 3 that signed up are all sons of current farmers.

I'm seeing that a lot from the younger generation.  Seems many of them feel to entitled to have to work.
