I honestly disagree. I’m not sure why, but I feel like the action 5 pro is constantly in HLG mode or something. It’s completely washed out in color and out of focus inside still mode in comparison to the previous model action 4. For a camera that has more megapixels it seems like the action 4 is sharper and more detailed. I understand the rumor of the next Firmware update providing a Bit rate boost, but please re-examine the color science, and please re-examine the stills mode. You guys need to reevaluate what a ‘Pro’ camera should be. Clearly these guys needed to modded the camera to get the desired images. Currently there is no official solution to get macro images or changing the focus distances in camera unlike your competitors. You should rather add lens accessories to help these issues or introduce an official filter adapter to allow new accessories. I’m also dissatisfied that there is no control of aperture or focus distancing within the software itself. Feels like a huge missed opportunity. I know this isn’t a mini-dslr or anything but I am hoping to use this camera to replace my iPhone at the least for content creation. The osmo pocket 3 is nice but the portability and mount options of the action 5 pro was a better option for content creation. But trying to show off product at a few inches away leads to out of focus situations which is a massive disappointment. Now I myself may resort into modification or return the product altogether.
