On the recommendation of DJI, I purchased a MiPad. Then found it had no location services.  Now, the MiPad will not upgrade the DJI PILOT app to the new DJI GO app.
DJI GO incompatible with the MiPad 4.4.4 android system.  MiPad said to contact DJI.  I have been waiting for technical support for over an hour and a half.  On hold for 30 minutes, then disconnected.
Be warned, DJI is still showing the MiPad as compatible.  
IT IS NOT!!
I now have a useless MiPad that I bought to fly my Inspire 1 with.  I am afraid to attempt to fly with the new 1.4 firmware with the old DJI PILOT app.

Never heard of a MiPad.

Keep trying! Don't give up! It make just be a glitch or firmware issue.

Well, I am not sure about your case.
I use MiPad and it has been working fine with all versions of firmware including the newest 1.4.0.
I can load the map with GPS location and all flight paths shown for the waypoints flying.

It does occasionally crash for v1.4.0 though, but I guess it is due to DJI software bugs in video caching for Andriod

I installed the DJI GO by directly downloading the Apps from DJI download page into usb flash, then installing it manually rather than go through the Playstore
