Could you provide more details, what activity is being undertaken when filming, was the horizon calibration done on an appropriate flat surface, did you attempt re-calibration & film again.
I was in the sea metal detecting. Yes calibration done on a table as per instructions. I did not review footage whilst i was in the sea (who does that ?)

I am going to reset the camera and start again.
I don’t ask if you’d reviewed footage in the sea only if you had tried recalibration & filming again perhaps I should have qualified after seeing the footage. Where was the camera mounted could it be some kind of magnetic interference from your dectector equipment? I have tested both my OA5s but cannot replicate the issue.
Hi, there
We apologize for the inconvenience that you are encountering.
Could you please check if the Action 5 pro firmware version is V01.00.07.30?
If not, please connect to the Mimo App to upgrade the firmware.
Please keep us update after trying , thanks.

Sorry for the confusion. To avoid any misunderstanding. We corrected the comment above.
At the same time, may I know the current firmware version you have? We will forward your situation to our engineering team to further check and see how to sort it out, thanks.

This is incredibly disappointing .
I was hoping that the new firmware would fix the HB problem.
I am on the latest firmware as I told you, released on the 19th September.
What is the timescale on new firmware as I need to decide in the next few days if I return the camera or not and get a refund. As this is a deal breaker for me.
I do lots of short sequences normally and I cant wait for 20 seconds or more from start of recording for it to sort itself out.
I was hoping that the new firmware would fix the HB problem.
Sorry for the inconvenience. For your situation, it is suggested you could try to perform the calibration for more times, bases on the result in Horizon Calibration.
If the angle change in the Roll axis is within ±1°, please no worries, this is a normal phenomenon and you could feel free to use the product.
If the angle change in the Roll axis exceeds ±1°, please send the product back for further inspection. You could go to the following link, https://repair.dji.com/, to create a case and send back. Thanks.

I have done calibration multiple times.
If you look at the video I sent you you will see the horzon float all over the place more than 20 degrees for the first 20 seconds of recording (and each recoring)
Also other people are experiencing same problem. So sending it in for repair is waste of time.
If you cant fix this by firmware update I will return camera to seller.
I need to know in the next couple of days an ETA on firmware.

Hi, there
We have not yet received any information related to your question.
Please stay tuned to DJI's official website, as we will update the latest news on the official website as soon as we receive it.
Thank you for your understanding and interest in DJI.
Sorry but If you cant give me some more information I have no alternative to return camera for a refund.
There must be someone in your organisation that know info.
Also given fact I was advised on new version number last week
If we choose to look at our cameras orientation this is where we do that Would it make a difference, think not
In our settings, we are on the Resolutions, fps, and EIS HB, with STD Dewarp (sorry camera contrast is a killer)
And when we go through the camera screen it will be like so
And if it does not work like in these videos Handheld to stationary,
We then must remove the camera frame, and tripod and set up for calibration
I find that if I reach towards the camera it senses movement and the camera adjusts. further testing is needed and with Subject tracking as that may use the gyro, EIS is more or less not used and software is.
I hope my sample shots are helpful it shows that HB is not perfectly 100% spot on but does the best it can do in the situation in. testing on water and Sea rolls is not going to be ideal testing grounds, stresses the HB to act as quickly as possible for correction and causes it to be Off-balanced How I see it. Would a gimbal and EIS off work, no not for Sea unless its a waterproof gimbal

This is the problem with Osmo Action 5
On the start of EVERY recording even if camera is NOT turned off between recording the camera takes 20-25 seconds to stabilise.
I have confirmed with other camera OA5 users they experience the same issue.
(I do not get this with OA4)
I was told last week there was a firmware update to fix this but DJI and now hiding under shell on issue.
I have directly sent this video to DJI showing the problem.
For me this is a deal breaker as I normally do lots of short recordings of less than 30 seconds.
I cannot wait for camera to sort itself out each time.
I need either a fix or I return camera to seller to get refund.
FWIW I return it, before the Return expires, wait for the actual fix, and if you do get new OA5P maybe the new one will be trouble free. or use the OA4 and wait
The new firmware solved a lot of problems as well, so ensure you are running latest.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I did a factory reset after upgrading to the latest firmware. The next step was horizontal calibration. No luck so far. I'll post a video later. I'm really surprised how the orientation lock can't work. I'm starting to wonder if I'm missing something. Firmware Version: 01.01.05.20
Camera Firmware Version: 10.00.10.18

Also I found the video on You Tube showing 360 locked rotation with 2,7K/30 HB (not rocksteady)
Nobody knows... Let's hope that in the next update the DJI will try to fix the mess.. I'm really surprised by the poor quality of the camera software. It's so easy to disable the orientation lock button for unsupported resolutions.
