Hello,
I just pulled the trigger on the OA5 because of some awsome features (DJI dive mode, better dynamic range, ..) for my own usage (scuba, freedive, on-board in small plane). But what did you have in your mind creating another set of ND filters for the OA5. I have a OA4 with ND filters, that takes place of the lens cover on OA4. On the OA5, the lens cover is not removable anymore, and the DJI ND filters are going over with a rubber style.
What did you have in your mind?
I can just buy another set of aftermarket ones ans sell the OA4 filters with the cam...

Why not just use the filters you have for the action 4?

I think the op is having trouble getting the front cover off the Action 5 and so thinks that it’s not removable.

Like me, he has screw on filters so he thinks that he can’t use them.

The front on mine was very tight so I used a cloth to grip it and turn. I wasn’t able to get it to move with my bare fingers and I think that he might have the same problem.

The same here, the front cover was very tight, but it is removeble. And not only the front cover, but also the lens.

Also, there is that rubber band around it that moves when you twist. It is very hard to get off but once you’ve done it, then you’re ok for ND filters that screw on.

Anyone know what the rubber band is for?

These are clip-on filters, not screw-on filters!!

I made a lens removal tool for the Osmo Action, it still works with the 5. If you have a 3D printer, you can download it here:

Yes, the new ones are clip on, whereas the old one are screw-on. But many reviewers told that it wasn't possible to unscrew the OA5 lens cover, thanks a lot for pointing this out.
Finally it's less a pity, I supposed that this screw-on mechanism did reveal some failure wrt the waterproofing.

It seals with a gasket under the cover un a recess I think. DJI do seem to screw them down very tight. Probably to stop leakage, which is maybe why some reviewers thought that they were fixed. Mine comes off easily now so I can screw on nd filters. I wish that DJI would make a mist filter for it.

Yes but I have many scuba light that you don't need to screw that strong. Actually you have to ensure that seal is clean, because water pressure will exercise enough pressure to seal it correctly.
