Hopefully we'll still be flying when the new bridge is built.

You reckon is going to take that long?

This AM, UPS delivered spare parts ordered.
This afternoon, the DLH contracted regional delivery service delivered the Neo Fly More Kit.

My RC-N3 & extra batteries arrived today.  Still haven't given the Neo a serious flight but sure enough the remaining batteries all required firmware updates.  Tentatively designating the Neo as "Scrotie McBoogerballs".

Oh, I see.. You are talking about the other issue... If that does happen, it would really be a shame for the RC industry in the US... If those RC companies are really so concern, why don't they start to build something that can actually compete against DJI and fight them with pride and innovation, instead of hiding behind few politician's butts...

I still have a couple of my older drones, that can fly anywhere, any time...

Short test flights indoors and one outdoors.  Just long enough to drop the fully charged batteries to ~65%.  Assuming these like the Avata2 battery if kept in the charging hub will self discharge to optimal storage level if left unused for a set period of time?

First almost crash.  Flew up the open stair well to the loft level.  Deep shadow at the top of the stairs and a very dark colored down quilt draped over the sofa in the direct line of flight. The Goggle3 image went very under exposed and grainy as the Neo accelerated straight into the quilt.  Able to save it from crashing as it bounced a couple times into the quilt.  Almost like it was trying to fly through it. Bit weird. Or it could have been just my twitchy thumbs trying to save the Neo from crashing.

Early evening windy(F4/5) condition test outdoors with the 3rd battery. Gusty and swirling around the leeward side of the house.  Not exactly fun flying conditions for any quad. Impressed how easy it was to control the Neo in S mode using the FPV RC3. You can hear the motors working. The quad the Neo replaces would have crashed. Only issue was landing in the swirly, gusty wind. Thought I lined up dead center, but during the auto landing the Neo slid downwind far enough to slightly off the landing pad.

Today. Another too  windy day to fly outdoors. Another day windsurfing in F5/6 conditions with gale force gusts and huge swells.  Looking forward to a real flight session on a calm day.

Finally had a clear night.  Thought you might find these interesting.  In the last one you can make out the Pillars of Creation.  Straight out of the scope, from Bortle 8 skies.

Picked up a Neo from Amazon and ordered some additional batteries and charging hub through DJI. Had a Neo Combo pre-ordered with another retailer in the U.S. but with the delays, I'm just going to gift that to a family member for the holidays whenever I receive it.

Hope to give it a spin this weekend.
