The market outlook for tugs is stated to grow from 19.3 Billion dollars in 2023 to reach 59.4 Billion dollars by 2032,  The national average for tugboat captains is $43 an hour or $89,400. So they aren't getting rich but can make a good living (depending on location of course).

They may well make that amount in your area.  I guess when they did the national average it took into account places where the cost of living is much cheaper and wages are much lower.

True. I see they start at at $25-30 per hour and make 65-85k per year average.

Gosh,   that looks so top heavy I wonder how it does flip over all the time.  Great Shot

A lot of Navy guys got certified on tugs before getting out and had no trouble finding jobs.

Goes right along with the work the Boatswains Mates did in the Navy for sure.
