Yep, I have a set like shown in Poker's video and I do not use them. I left the mounts on but I don't use the guards. I used them. First fairly windy day and I could feel the drag difference with them on and kept flipping into the field of view ruining every shot I tried to take that day. Brought it back down and removed them and never snapped them back on since. If I was to ever fly it inside (can't think why I would) but if I did I would put them on for that.
UAVbits said they are going to make quick disconnect ones that connect like their Strong Arm reinforcement plates.
I plan to get a set. I may never use them but will be nice to know I have them if needed.
I just bought a quick release one... The plate seems to help o reinforce the shell. I dont intend to use it outdoor ... But only indoor if ever i need to... I dont want to cut people.
My only problem is my hard case is now tight to include these props. Maybe i will just bring it when needed indoor flying.. Buy for usd 9.0 should be ok..
I put those quick release guards on my p3p and was very careful not to over tighten the guards, AND 1 flight later I found cracks in one of the arms, 46 flights prior, no cracks, my suggestion leave well enough alone!
DO NOT use the brand "phantomGuard" quick release prop guards!! I bought a set, flew two batteries, and my shell had stress cracks!! 35+ flights before the guards with no cracks!! Coincidence?? I think not...They actually caused a significant "wobble" effect when descending, I think it was enough to cause the cracks
dji orginals always for rotas, motors, prop gaurds etc .Their tolerances have been designed and tested.Little or no research or development is carried out on copies that's why there cheap, add to that inferior materials
