They see to be the patterns.

Because the Gulf of Mexico keeps getting warmer every summer it has really intensified the hurricanes as they come ashore bigger and stronger.

Exactly and you always have to be vigilant to make sure they haven't turned and are now coming right at you.  There are not hiding places on the ocean, at least not on the surface.

The Environmental Groups in the area are trying but they don't seem to have much clout.

Indeed it is.  The worst weather I ever saw at sea was in the North Atlantic between the Faroe Islands and the Shetland Islands.  We had 30 foot swells and the wind was howling at us.  We lost a couple of lifeboats and a lot of the external passageway railing.  I'd say at least 75% of the crew was seasick.  I was on duty on the bridge and too busy to worry about getting seasick.

The warming is caused by worldwide abuse. They can't even agree on measures in the energy summits. Remember the fights over being able to use styrofoam cups to slow down ozone depletion?

I only started to get seasick once while on a scuba diving trip. The diesel boat was ideling for about an hour. I had a wetsuit and hood on and wasn't feeling the greatest, so I jumped in the water and it went away.

Yes, I definitely remember those.  The new thing down here is paper straws.

IT could be but it's what they say to do when you're diving and the diesel fumes get to you. It worked.

I get it and it makes total sense.  I really hate the smell of diesel fumes.

Anytime I go around one of the major truck stops that smell just lingers in the air from all those diesel engine semi-trucks.

Much worse things for sure.  Particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, cigarette/cigar smoke, mold, pollen, and animal dander all come to mind.
