For many the speed of the DJI Neo is perhaps a little slow. Below is a very quick video that shows you how to increase its speed when using a controller. It is very easy. It would be nice if DJI allowed it to go even faster with a firmware update. Now that would be nice

Now it is light I just had a hoon around with the Neo and it made quite a difference. I also messed with the Angular speed and this also made it more fun in the turns............. Come on DJI give us more speed with the controller in sports mode....... 12 m/s would be nice

Please take note that DJI Neo can be used as an entry-level device for M mode, suitable for throttle control, altitude stability, and level flight practices. However, its body is very compact and small, so it is not recommended for continuous high-speed flying and high maneuvering actions, such as Dive, Split-S, Power Loop, Yaw-Spin, etc. I hope this information has helped to clarify your inquiries. I got one and had my first flight with the Avata 2 just after the flight with the Neo

Being a bit of a dolt or maybe it's the old brain. After flying the Neo outside my impressions was a bit slow, but that's ok.  It's main market is probably the selfie crowd. Forgot to reset the factory very slow  gain setting.  Based on one YTube video.  Manual mode top speed is almost 60km/hr.  Which is similar to max speed of the Avata2 in S mode.  Not bad for a 2"/50mm drone. Now I need to remember to tone down the rates for indoors N and S mode flying.  

+1 I would be more than happy to set speed for 16m/s at Sport mode.

It surely its safer  on S-port assisted mode than manual mode in hands of lets say "entry level' user...

I agree. With the goggles 3 and the motion controller it seem a lot faster

with motion controller it have same speed as with rc-n3, its max 8m/s

its faster only in manual mode at rc-fpv 3 controller.

Its stupid, because flying in manual is far less safe than in Sport, so its more logic to allow people to flying in Sport also 16m/s

its same as in avata 2. This one is limited in sport to 16, and in Manual to have  no limit.
I do not want to use rc-fpv controller and manual mode, but i would like to fly fast on motion controller or rc-3n controller with stabilisation, in same way as i can in my Mini 2...

Ah ok, I was gonna get a neo but might wait on the air 3s and see if I am interested in that first, don't want too many drones at once.
Also, I see you have an action 3, could I ask if you think it is worth it to get a 4 or 5 pro right now? I have a GoPro hero 5 and desperately need an upgrade, thanks for the time, Anthony.

I have an Actopn 3, 4 and 5 the 4 is on special offer at the moment and it is excellent. I would get the OA4

ok I'll look into the oa4 now, but do you think the 5 is a major upgrade if I have the money? I would get a 4 but don't want it too get outdated too quick, plus I can sell my gpr hero 5 rn for some extra Incase I don't have enough. thanks for the advice.

Hi guys, I'm got the FPV combo for the DJI NEO and using the FPV controller 3 but I can't seem to find a way to increase the speed in Manual mode, or even change the camera tilt angle in manual mode. Has anyone change this?

hi, +1 to add max speed for sports mode, we really need the speed boost!
After playing with rc n3 + neo for a while, I felt it like a huge let down to limit the Neo to only 8m/s.
I am really considering to return the Neo now due to the speed limit @@

The maximum speed difference between N and S modes are not that great at 6 vs. 8m/sec. Bumping up the S mode max speeds to at least 11m/sec would be nice.

If you feel the need for speed learn to fly Manual mode. 16m/sec and not locked into the mild angles of attack of N and S modes.  Beware that the Neo with hard yaw input experiences a bit of washout.  Nice to have a bit of altitude and/or hit the Brake/Pause or mode rocker switch to recover.  Or for those limited to N & S mode.  Just fly sub 0.5m to feel a higher speed.

Wonderful videos!  The speed and turns are quite improved in just a short time, very nicely done.  I have less than 1 hour of time with the MC3 and everything I do is slooowwww!  Very intuitive, but I keep trying to turn my wrist instead of rolling, but am better each time.  Weather is going to tank (lots of snow and cold) for next week or so, so today was last day flying outside (can fly inside, but only when my wife is gone

Flight times are usually ~11 minutes in S mode.  Down to ~7 minutes in M mode.  Try to land with 30% battery capacity. ~20% is the lowest flown.  M mode throttle response drops with too low battery capacity.  I don't think there is a low battery RTH.  Flying M mode no further than 100 meters out from launch pad.  IIRC, last autumn when I switched from M mode to N or S mode returning to the launch pad, the Neo low battery RTH engaged.

Where in the US are you. If there is no wind it might be fun having a fly in the snow

I am in Indianapolis.  We received 4 or 5 inches of snow yesterday and, unfortunately, it’s windy now..  I actually was flying when it started snowing and it was very nice.  Could see glitter of flakes and a little actually accumulated on the Neo. .  I’m good for about 1 battery worth of flight in the cold as nerve issues affect my hands/fingers.  Similar to you and your garden, I step out of my house and fly a small patch of woods directly across our street.  10-12 mins flight and back inside and warm up!  I absolutely LOVE this little drone!  Am a retired “computer guy” and am constantly amazed at the technology packed into $200 US!

I did a speed text 2day with the new setting I was getting 23km/h with no wind and now I getting 29km/h
but I did have a little wind 2day so with no wind it will go faster and get around 11 1/2 min flying..
