OK, now I am completely confused. I have been thinking about the X5 but decided, almost, on the X5R because of the bitrate speed. BUT now, I've just been told by a colleague that to shoot Mp4 with the X5R it will still be locked at 60Mbps?????? Surely this can't be right. Can someone from DJI please confirm what bitrate speeds will be possible when shooting 4K/1080p Mp4/Mov with the X5R. Thanks.

I can't confirm it, but it seems very plausible. The X5R is an X5 +  RAW recording ( for which you pay about 2k$ more ).
I don't think they will change much about the overall functions compared to the non 'R' version.

60 MBit/s is really bad on such a camera. Even on the X3 it is very limiting. But OK the GoPro 4 has the same problem.
But in an MFT Camera I just don't get it.

EDIT: After rereading yout post I'm not sure if you understood what the RAW recording is all about ?

I agree all cameras should be updated to 100 MBit/s though the included Lexar SD cards cannot handle this.

Well, I too have been asking for weeks. But the posts I have been reading, and the ones I have been posting have been aimed at the bitrate of the X5. I always assumed, obviously wrongly, that the bitrate, which is advertised for the X5R at 1.7Gb avg. applied to all formats. It's only yesterday that someone said that it only applies when shooting RAW footage and not when shooting Mp4 or Mov. So I'm trying to get that verified.

No you mix it up:

The Sandisk Pro has a write speed of 90 MB/s and is U3

The included Lexar "633x" is U1 has a write speed of guaranteed 10 MB/s though some may go until 20 MB/s. It has a READ speed of 95MB/s (633x) but not write. You will not find any information of write speed for this reason on the lexar site. I confronted Lexar with the and they admit that it has 10-20MB/s write speed.

100 Mbit is 12,5 MB/s so some Lexar cards will fail while most other cards  have at least 30 MB/s write and will do well.

people are confusing Mbps with MBps as they are different

X3 and X5 is 60Mbps thats 7.5MBps,  San disk Pro will write at 90MBps so plenty of speed,

SD cards are not the issue.

Not sure what you mean. Mad angler is correct, but I still think DJI needs to increase the bit rate on the X5 as do a lot of other guys.
I think he's just pointing out that the memory card is not the issue, and I was just agreeing with him.

HI Dave,

What I ment was DJI has to have noticed so many people wanting this issue fixed in the new X5 cameras.  I'm glad we are on the same page in regards to the bit rate needing an increase.

Also if I'm not mistaken, the micro sd cards that come with the inspire 1 can handle 10 bit prores HQ in UHD?

Hi Dave, in connection with this issue, I am still trying to get an answer to an important question. I know the bitrate for the X5 is 60Mbps and this of course has become a real headache for many of us. However, what I'm trying to find out, is, what is the bitrate of the X5R when shooting Mp4 or Mov? Is it the same as when shooting RAW? Or is it the same as the X5? I keep hearing differing information. If you could reply with a definitive answer I would be extremely grateful. Cheers.

Dave, then how can I buy a product without finding out such an important aspect of information? I want to buy the camera, but it's impossible for me to do so, because there is no way of getting answers to my questions.

DJI has put up some sample pictures and video straight from the camera from the X5. Not the X5R, not yet.

Down load from here.
