Ha… he’s not great at photography. That’s for sure.

Andre's video at 3:22 shows that OA5 struggle with stabilization in low light compared to OA4 and Ace Pro.

I don’t particularly like the Action 5 night mode. It looks too sharpened and ‘false’ looking. It really needs an adjusting switch so that it can be brought down, particularly for faces. On a larger screen it looks dreadful.

I agree with you that it doesn't look how we think it should look. But compared to Pocket 3, then OA5 is performing really great in low light.

I agree with you. It is still better than OA4 in low light but the quality is not what we hope for.
But again the new Ace Pro 2 have similar result in low light.

I have a feeling we have reached the end of the big jumps in sensor technology and they are now focusing more on the image processing.

I have both and the OA5 is better, the standard and high bit rate gives me way more flexibility.   I had to move to 512gb SD cards with the OA4 and now with the OA5 I can use the smaller ones and get the same recording time and you can't tell any difference after uploading to youtube etc.

What really surprises me the most is how good today's small sensors are compared to larger sensors from 10 years ago. I think AI and new processors probably have a lot to do with it too.

I really like OA5, but the colors on OA4 are better for my taste. OA5 has a bit too much color in proportion, but from all my experience, I think OA5 really has a lot more depth to the shades.

The new sensor technology helps and indeed, the processing helps too (not AI right now, but that will come too)

Yes indeed. But I think they have found a good way to prevent noise last years without losing too much quality also
