Ok so i am new to the phantom and to flying. This may be a dumb question to most. But how do you zoom the camera on the phantom 3 pro?

You zoom in, by flying up closer. @DJI haven't upgraded the digital zoom firmware, not yet. ;-)
Like folks without zoom and telephoto lenses on dslr bodies do, with their feet. ;-)

Practice plenty first, & avoid crashing into your target.
