Hi all,

After hours at DJI site I checked all kind of drones specs and the only one for the Mini series that I found which have the Follow Me option is the DJI Neo, but the Max Flight Time it's ridiculous, from what I understood neither DJI Mini 4K, DJI Mini 2SE, DJI Mini 3, DJI Mini 4, or DJI Mini 4 Pro have it, only DJI Neo. Is that right?

In a nutshell, I want a drone to use alone (so I can't use any control) when I'm doing water sports (so I can't change battery), martial arts, or running in the woods, so the perfect drone would have:
- 35+ minutes Max Flight Time
- Follow Me
- RTH

And a plus if it have;
- Obstacle Avoidance
- Price up to 500 Euros

The main question is about the models with follow me, but if you also know a good drone for my requirements, please leave your opinion.

Thanks in advance!

I have a Mini 3. It does not have the "follow me" functionality. I wish it did!

Hey i have a mini 3 too it doesn't have any following features but for you i think the dji neo is the best and the most suitable for tracking a subject under 500 euros and plus you could use it with the RC-N3  for more controls

mini 3 pro has it, if you can find one, but it's replaced by the mini 4 pro since a while now.

First, there's no mini 4, only mini 4k (which is basically mini 2). Mini 3 does not have it but mini 3 pro has it and so does the mini 4 pro, just not called "follow me". On the mini 3 pro its active track (only from behind and sides) but i would not trust it since it doesn't have side sensors, and the mini 4 pro has activetrack 360, which I still do not trust that much since in some places it'll malfunction or go behind a wall and such.
Conclusion is go with mini 4 pro if you have to. completely honestly if you didn't mind it you could get an insta 360, since it is strongly not advised to fly drones above water since the bottom sensors tend to malfunction. If you don't mind insta 360 is the way to go, but if you need a drone its mini 4 pro (idealy flymore combo since there more batteries). Cheers, anthony

As I said in my question, DJI Neo is the worst drone ever for that, it's only around 10 miinutes in follow me mode with "high quality", that's not enough for sports, specially for water sports where you can't change the battery.

From other answers, looks like DJI Mini 4 Pro is the best option so far.

Thanks, the Active Mode is not in the informations at the website for "drone comparation", so I missed, also with this name I would never think that is a "follow me" mode.

I checked and so far you're right, DJI Mini 4 Pro is the best option, looks like they will release DJI Mini 5 Pro, I'll wait for it and than make my decision, because Insta 360 it's not easy to transport and it's too heavy, I don't want to have more than the drone license itself.

Thanks a lot!!!

no worries, but I don't suggest waiting for a mini 5 pro since there haven't been any rumours at all about it, so maybe next spring and that will be a while, get the mini 4 pro while you can since DJI is busy working on the Mavic 4 (pro?) and that'll probably release right before Christmas. Btw since you live in Netherlands it is considered the eu so you don't need to have a license while flying the mini drones, so you wont even need to carry a drone license.
