Dual-Camera Drone for Travel Photography
DJI Air 3S
Join the discussion in the comments and sharethe feature you're most excited about.

close up product shots_静态美图2.jpg

Here are the six major highlights of the newDJI Air 3S
1″ CMOS Primary Camera
The primary camera of DJI Air 3S integrates a 50MP 1-inch CMOS sensor, supporting 4K/60fps HDR and 4K/120fps video recordingas well as 10-bit D-Log M color mode. This large sensor, enhanced by advanced image-processing technology and intelligent algorithms, preserves even minute details in low-light conditions such as sunsets and nightscapes, delivering shots that are simply, effortlessly breathtaking.

Dual-Camera 4K/60fps HDR Video & 14 Stops of Dynamic Range
DJI Air 3S features a dual-camera system consisting of a 1-inch-CMOS primary camera and a 1/1.3-inch-CMOS medium tele camera. The primary camera features a larger CMOS sensor and a 24mm lens, making it ideal for capturing expansive landscapes with enhanced clarity and a wide field of view. The 70mm medium tele camera excels at portrait and vehicle shots, offering compressed depth of field to highlight any subject with a bolder, more cinematic look.

Free Panorama, Seamless and Detailed
Both the primary camera and medium tele camera of DJI Air 3S offer Free panorama mode, letting you create seamless panoramic shots by stitching together multiple images with a manually selected subject or area. The wide-angle camera offers a broader FOV, boosting efficiency when capturing panorama photos. The medium tele camera significantly reduces image distortion, crafting your masterpieces into expansive shots with a wide perspective from multiple photos and rich details captured through its focal length advantages.

Nightscape Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing
DJI Air 3S supports the Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS). Additionally, as the first DJI drone to feature forward-facing LiDAR, Air 3S also features a downward infrared time-of-flight (ToF) sensor and six vision sensors (two at the front, rear, and bottom) to achieve nightscape omnidirectional obstacle sensing.  This feature enables the drone to automatically identify and circumvent obstacles, such as buildings, during its flight and return paths, ensuring robust safety for nighttime photography.

Next-Gen Smart RTH With Enhanced Precision
Powered by real-time vision positioning and map construction technologies, DJI Air 3S memorizes flight paths when adequate lighting is available. This ensures a safe return even when taking off from locations without satellite signals, such as balconies.
With forward-facing LiDAR, DJI Air 3S can detect obstacles such as high-rise buildings and navigate upwards around them, even in low-light conditions, ensuring safer returns at night.

45-Min Flight Time, 20km Video Transmission
With up to 45 minutes of flight time,  Air 3S gives you enough time to scout locations, compose, nail your shots, and do it all over again and again.

Really interested in this after considerinng the Mini Pro 4 and Neo, with some amazing specs.

Can someone confirm if the Goggles 3 also works with this?  I know it's compatible with the Air 3 but can't find anywhere to confirm it's also on the 3S.

Thanks

I should get a special permission from the Boss (aka. Wife) before I pull the trigger on that lovely drone.

Unless DJI chooses to send one for free

The Goggles 3 will need a firmware update to add compatibility to new products introduced, similar to the Neo's release. Can't imagine it will be a long wait.

This is truly a fantastic drone.
the dual camera is now a must
the new one-inch sensor, fantastic for any scenario, even in low-light ones...
coupled with the Lidar anti-collision sensor
make this drone safe and fantastic even for flying at night and taking memorable shots... I already love it
- What leaves me perplexed at the moment...
is the low bitrate value in video recordings
I am perplexed because a file with a 10bit Mlog color profile is a file rich in color and light information... and so I wonder how it can record this file properly even with such a low bitrate without losing detail.
I wonder if someone can send me an original file to analyze...
or maybe if some DJI technician can explain this to us

Probably my future successor for my air 2s. The only thing I really regret is the 12MPx sensor. Sure, there's a "50MPx" feature, but an actual 20MP would be much better for a photo. It's an excellent drone for video, but for photos this seems like a major shortcoming.

Yes, same questions here. And also about the 14stops of dynamic range, only available on "auto mode". What is that ? We can't have this dynamic range with DlogM and with manual iso/shutterspeed ?

Same here, 130MB/s compared to 150MB/s. I have watched a comparison between 3 and 3s, the image looks a bit odd. I’m not sure if in-camera processing is happening. Even the promotional video’s image looked contrasty.

Is this quad geo-locked like all the other DJI aircraft? I have spent over $50,000 on DJI aircraft for my business but I refuse to buy any more that have any geo-locking areas in them for US operations. I have spent too much time getting clearance to fly from DJI and have had times when I simply could not fly at all even with the clearance preloaded in the aircraft. I litrally fly every day for work and put a lot of hours on my aircraft. I prefer how DJI drones fly and work but I bring with me to all jobs a non DJI quad (that does not have geo-locking) for the times I can not get my DJI to fly.

I would say that these limitations are not normal and moreover I can't understand why ...
most of the jobs I deliver are dlog or dlom
This limitation forces me to wait for the next drone, maybe a mavic4pro

Hello, on the official launch video, and also in the specs on the website. There's a little 1 and at the page's bottom, it's specify. But don't really know about what that means.

How come? And will you make this an option soon?

I once had the herpes virus and contacted Dr. Ajayi via email. He assured me that I would be cured after taking his herbal medicine. Months later, I noticed changes in my condition. When I went for a check-up twice, my test result came out negative, confirming that I was completely cured. If you're dealing with a similar illness, you can contact Dr. Ajayi via email at ajayiherbalhome@gmail.com or reach him through Call/WhatsApp at +2348119071237. I have been waiting on the mini5pro to come out and order for my very 1st drone, it seems unlikely that it will come out any time soon if ever, not liking that there is currently a house resolution poised to go to senate that could result in no future sales of DJI drones.
I am about to pull the trigger on the DJI mini 4 Pro but am seeing these post about the Air 3 S with excitement among most of the post!
Should I entertain getting the Air 3 S instead, if so, Why?
Also does this drone come in below the FCC restrictions about flying without needing to go thru the government red tape?

You may have to push the battery in further. If you hear a click when you put the battery in it will be in properly, otherwise the charging port may be broken.

Probably my future successor for my air 2s. The only thing I really regret is the 12MPx sensor. Sure, there's a "50MPx" feature, but an actual 20MP would be much better for a photo. It's an excellent drone for video, but for photos this seems like a major shortcoming.

I’ve had the A3s for a few days now and need to take more photos at 100 iso as I took some at iso 400 (evening) at 50 mpx and I don’t think  the images are as sharp as the Air2s. I hope a 20mpx option is available soon and images pop like the Air2s in a future update.

My DJI drone is not charging. is there any solution or this?

Hi there. Sorry to hear about your experience. Please follow the trouble shootings below:
1. Check whether the battery level has exceeded 95%. Due to overcharge protection, the battery can be charged only when the battery level is lower than 95%.
2. Check whether the device is charging under powering off state; some devices do not support charging when powering on.
3. Cross test with different charging methods; some devices do not support charging when directly connected to the aircraft.
① Ensure that the charging temperature range for the intelligent flight battery is within the required range;
② Ensure that an official charging cable and power adapter are provided and that the external power supply is normal;
③ Check the battery LED status, comparing to the battery LED status to confirm if the battery protection information is triggered by abnormal charging;
④ Please replace the battery to see if the charger is working normally;
⑤ Please replace the charger if possible;
⑥ After the above steps and found that using the same charger to charge multiple batteries, only one battery cannot be charged, the battery can be judged to be faulty. If using the same charger, and found that all batteries cannot be charged, you can send back the battery and charger for diagnosis.

That is exactly why I`m about to pull the plug on it. I wanted it sooo much but as I do 90% landscape photography it delivers less quality and detail for stills. I checked a couple of raw files and they are noisy as hell and not enough detail. Sad.
A member suggested to take a panoramic shot every time with the 70 mm lens and that will be good but all the time panos? I`m not sure about it.
Could you please let me know if you find out anything new about this drone in this photography matter?

The DJI Air3s is indeed a very appealing drone. However, I have decided to wait for approximately one year before making a purchase. This delay will allow the production process to address any potential issues and ensure that the quality of the product is more assured and reliable.
