Where is the Air 2S forum now? Seems with all the separate Air models and the new Air 3S  folks can't find the older models.

Last question - can the Air 3S be purchased as a drone only since I have the Mini 4 Pro with the RC2? RC2 works with the Air 3S and don't need a 2nd controller.

Hello ! Question about the 14 stops of dynamic range. It says that the 14 stops are available in auto mode ? So if I use DLOG M, and manual expostion (iso and shutter speed), there's no 14stops ?
Thanks a lot

Yes seems there was a good 30min of forum maintenance and all the Air forums were temporarily gone probably while they were adding the A3S area.

All good now.

PLEASE make all your drones (including the new Air 3S) available withOUT an RC (like the Neo). I already own the RC2 so paying extra for something I'll never need or use is just a waste of money.

That's 14 stops in video I believe. The main sensor combines 4 pixels and increases DR. I doubt you'd get 14 stops of DR @ 50Mpx, even in cooked DNG. The best FF sensors have around 12.

I have a question to the DJI staff - what sensor is behind the 24mm equiv lens? IMX989 or LYT900?

I think it is wise to have separate controllers. You might want to update one but not the other. Updates are not always good and can limit what you want to do in some circumstances

What about RC Pro support? Will there be an update for the Air3S ?

Without it would be a downgrade for me.

There is no such thing as real 14 stops in DR at this sensor, is a joke or a pure LIE....
1st of all, this is based on using sensors as Bayer tech for this, causing a huge degrade in image quality by inducing a lot of chroma aberrations.
2nd of all, the sensor remains LIMITED RGB, this causing a crash of 10% in DR from the start.

So all this BS with 14stops is just pure marketing...

Cheers.

HI there, thank you for reaching out. You may check the Air 2s forum using the link shared below :
[https://forum.dji.com/forum.php? ... peid&typeid=768].

Regrettably, DJI Air 3s comes with the standard DJI RC-N3 rmeote controller and can't be purchased the drone separately.

Thank you for your understanding anf support!

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. May I confirm if you're checking on the goggles that's compatible with DJi Air 3s? If yes, kindly take note that there's no goggles supported by DJi Air 3 s at the moment.

Good point, however I'd rather have just one controller just the same. Even if I already had 2 or 3 O4-compatible controllers at this point, my request to DJI is still the same. I don't want to keep paying for more.

I got an email from DJI Retail yesterday announcing the arrival of the Air 3S. I am currently on holiday in my new campervan in the far North Of Scotland. I clicked on the purchase link and was taken to the DJI Website. Over £1400.00 to buy which is fair enough. I clicked on the 'trade in' option to see what I would be offered for my Air 3 Fly More Combo which I bought direct from DJI. My Air 3 is in perfect condition and completely unblemished. I  was offered the very generous NOT sum of £344 00 yes £344.00 I really want the Air 3S but if DJI feel that this is all one of their products which is less than 12 months old is worth then maybe I should be spending my money on something with a longer life. A pint of milk might be a good one.

Interesting on the trade-in option - was that from DJI, or another local or online retailer? If that was from DJI, must be something in Europe because I don't recall anything like that here in the US. Very lucky even if the amount isn't too low for trade-in.

That was direct from DJI Retail which is DJI's official store. I really wasn't expecting DJI to move heaven and earth to buy my existing unit from me. The thing is though mine is less than 12 months old. It flies as well as the day that I bought it.  The drone has had absolutely no crashes and the 3 batteries all hold full charge as well as  when I first bought my Fly More Combo. Offering less than 25% of what I paid for it is quite frankly laughable although I will openly confess that I am really not laughing about it.

That's disappointing, why would the Air2S be supported by the better controller, while the newly released Air 3s isn't?

Means I have to stay with the Air2S for the time being.

I think the main reason is the Occusync 4 update on the RC2 versus the O3 and older on the other controllers. Unfortunately DJI did not make the RC2 backward compatible to the older transmission protocols.

That makes sense, but in that case it would make sense to release a new pro controller with O4 support, if it is really a hardware limitation.

I would anticipate this very item appearing once the newer occu4 enterprise drones start to appear, possibly even when the Mavic pro 4 arrives.

I plan to purchase the Air 3S with RC 2 controller.  I will then get two controllers that will be possible to use on both drones (and if I understand DJI correctly).

Furthermore, I had a long session the other day with my Mini 4Pro, and used two and a half battery before I had to abort, because the RC 2 was low on battery (was full when I started).  In such a condition, it would have been nice to have a second controller, and in any case if one fails and needs to be replaced, you do not have to stop flying while waiting for a new controller.

Still I fully see the point that it is limited how many controllers you need, and it would be nice to have the opportunity to buy the drones separately.

“Hello friends, I am experiencing an issue with my drone. When I fly it on days with heavy fog or in the clouds, as I attempt to descend, the drone automatically goes into auto-landing mode because it detects the ground right below the clouds, causing it to get stuck and unable to descend further. Is there a way to disable this feature, or could this be considered as a possible improvement in a future firmware update?”

I remember that these models(like Mavic pro, Mavic air, and Mavic 2) can turn off the downward vision sensor function separately. If your drone can descend after turning it off, maybe the downward vision system is incorrect, then you can do the visual calibration. Not sure if this helps you, you can try it.

"Thank you so much for your suggestion! If it was possible to turn off the downward vision sensor separately on the Mavic Pro, Mavic Air, and Mavic 2, that would be an excellent solution. I'll definitely check if my Air 3S has this option as well—it would be really helpful. If it's available, it could solve the issue. Thanks again for your help!"
