I have updated firmware and the drone and remote both say it is running the most recent version. When I fireup the app, it says it needs a Firmware update.... When I fly it, the video feed cuts out 2 feet in front of me intermittent. First Blue Screen, Then Black, the it cuts out for 1-5 seconds then comes back on.. This prevents me from using the app to record video.

I have submitted several tickets to support but it appears there is no priority for resolving questions or issues.

what device do you use? if android try shutting off USB debugging features, its no longer required and they botched the new app programming so if debugging is turned on it causes problems.  If apple i think theres a bug with the live recording to tablet feature, try shutting that off.
