Hello all,

I'm thinking about getting the Neo and I'm curious about the stated max takeoff altitude.  In the specs it's listed as 2000m.  Has anyone tried taking off from elevations higher than that yet?  I travel above 3000m fairly often, and it'd be really great if it could take off from those sorts of elevations.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out. Kindly take note on other consideration when you are flying from a high elevation, DJI Neo is light and compact, and relies heavily on its vision positioning system for stable flight, especially in environments with no or weak GPS signals. Vision positioning is highly dependent on ambient light and ground textures. In low-light conditions or areas with plain and uniform ground textures, the drone may not be able to hover stably. Therefore, we recommend that you shoot using DJI Neo in environments with ample light and distinct ground patterns.

I hope this information has helped to clarify your inquiries. If you have any other questions, kindly let us know. Thank You!

More good news: I flew it at 2700m, no problems.  It seems like it will function fine even higher.  Will report back when I try that.

Sure! Here's a little clip.  I had taken the DJI app off my phone and forgot to put it back on, so wasn't able to do manual controls, but this is a little Follow-Mode clip.
