Whist testing the Close follow feature of the Neo the other day, I discovered one of its limitations
No damage to the drone, but I thought I'd use the incident to test out another useful feature:
FIND MY DRONE.

Neo forgot to duck like you did.  More training required.    Nice to see the find my drone worked well.  

And it was doing so well.    It's shame on a crash it doesnt start beeping like that automatically.

It's actually so noisy in flight, that it's very obvious when it has crashed. The sudden silence.

It's so light and flexible, at those low speeds there's no damage at all.

Not needed to use the find option yet, but is that all it does or does it show its location on a map too ?

I didn't actually need the feature either, since the Neo had fallen only about ten metres away.
I just tried it on a whim.  The location would normally be indicated on the map. But at that proximity I guess the scale wasn't zoomed out sufficiently.
Also, during the close follow section, I wasn't using the controller or phone.
I had to spend a few minutes getting them out of the bag and launching the DJI Fly App.

It certainly will come in handy for special occasions you want to capture.  There seems to be mixed feelings about the performance based on all the reviews I've read on this and other forums.  Seems owners either really like it or downright hate it.  To me it seems to do what it was designed to do.  Maybe some have unrealistic expectations.

Wev'e seen what it's apparently capable of doing in videos from the likes of LudgerLee, so anyone who is disappointed should maybe watch his work

It's just the cost of the peripherals to turn it into an FPV experience that are a bone of contention.

It was a great marketing scheme by DJI.  Get the product out and then as people start to enjoy it they will add goggles, RC, etc.  Remember here the kit didn't even include a RC with it.

Well I got the Flymore kit, which included RC-N3 and spare batteries.
I probably won't go down the FPV route anyway.

It would have been nice if DJI offered the same kits here in the US but for some reason they decided to NOT include any kits with RCs of any sorts.  Just greed related no doubt.  I saw on the news last night that DJI is now attempting to sue parts of the federal government. That should be interesting to follow.

I'd have to see the full filing to get a jist of exactly what DJI's strategy will be.  I'm sure you've heard the old saying you might win a small battle but you aren't going to win the war.  That could well be the case here.
