Hi there, I already described this problem in other post but I didn't get any response, so here I'll tell about it again.
While flying at sunset neo got crazy and started to fly away. From what i saw on video it lost right like video stabilization wasn't functioning correctly, probably whole drone lost horizontal orientation-the video is tilted/left accelerometer/gyroscop orientation. looks like drone thought it was "flat" while in real it was tilted in one direction. I almost lost the drone, but i managed to get it lower and crash in wall near me, sounds bad, but it's much better than fly away - neo survived this crash.
I added frame from video, you can see that it's tilted. I flew in cine mode on rc-n3. I think that whole drone lost orientation, I don't think it's fault of visual positioning 30m or gps loss, drone thought that this position is "flat" position so it didn't correct camera tilt at all. So can it be, that sometimes neo loses gyro and/or accelerometer fix? DJI if you can, get it fix ASAP, cuz it looks like firmware issue - I flew drones in atti mode, and neo wasn't in atti, it was wild like a free horse, it will cause many drones to fly away, possibly causing damages. I only once had similar situation with syma x5, when the battery went out of it's compartment and whole drone was tilted in one direction. And neo in yesterday's situation acted almost this same but the tilt was randomly changing direction.
I uploaded video from dji app https://youtu.be/JYykLwerW3s?si=lq22RgxN8xNviH61 It can be seen that app shows 30m height at end of flight, but it was about 10m, so it lost height orientation as well.
Thank You for reaching out. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience you are experiencing. DJI Neo is light and compact, and relies heavily on its vision positioning system for stable flight, especially in environments with no or weak GPS signals. Vision positioning is highly dependent on ambient light and ground textures. In low-light conditions or areas with plain and uniform ground textures, the drone may not be able to hover stably. Therefore, we recommend that you shoot using DJI Neo in environments with ample light and distinct ground patterns.
Please try to fly in a different enviroment and if issue still persist, please DM us the flight log to check further on this issue. We are looking forward to your response for further assistance. Thank You
You can see on video from dji app, that there's strong GPS signal. Beside I know how to fly in atti even in wind, this was gyro/accelerometer orientation problem, you can see that neo was tilting video image. It was tilting in random directions thinking it's flat. Only control was in left stick, by changing neo yaw I was able to change drift direction.
And as you can see gps path recorded correctly, but neo wasn't keeping his position based on gps.
I'll cover the visual sensors and try to fly it in safe environment, and I'm almost sure that it won't behave like this. I'm thinking that in situations when neo is losing and regaining visual positioning few times then it gets crazy loosing his horizontal orientation.
