No doubt that all gets repurposed in some fashion or another.  

Locally they have started to recycle concrete.  On this one company's website I found this info:

Concrete is broken up, unwanted materials are removed, and the remaining concrete is crushed to meet desired specifications.  Recycled concrete can be used as aggregate in new concrete, or as a subbase material, fill, or hardcore. It can also be used to create recycled stone or engineered fill sand. Recycling concrete saves natural resources, reduces the demand for new concrete production, and reduces the environmental impact of building projects.

So kind of a win-win situation to recycle it.  

Well documented Peter.  I expect everyone was glad when the noise and dust of the demolition ended.   And now.... the re-build in the near future?

Absolutely.
Often they have to pay to demolish.
Since they earn so much from the raw materials, that is still viable.

That's very interesting.  Here the building owner has to pay a demolition company to come in and do the work, not vice versa.

The commercial building industry never seems to slow down.  They are either building something new or tearing down something old and rebuilding in that same location.

I gave a presentation at a local high school to several groups of Advanced Placement students today on the "legal aspects of economics".  Great groups and they asked lots of relevant questions.

So far so good.
Weather is not really cooperating, but I'll be patient.
Still some outdoor painting to do, but it's covered below some tarps now.

We should be shifting into our "winter" weather period soon.  Which means we go from hot and windy to cool and windy.  In southern Florida we truly only get two seasons - Spring and Summer.

It's totally odd for sure.  I've been stationed in many places that got all 4 seasons.  The main thing I don't miss about winter is the snow.  Was nice to see but I hated to shovel it over and over and over.  I finally bought a jeep with a plow on the front.  I'd back into the garage in the evening and then in the morning raise the garage door and lower the shovel and put it in low and head to work. One morning I woke up and the snow had drifted to 2.5 meters tall.  I had to get out the snow blower to get rid of some before I could plow through it.

That was the snowfall that made me decide that when I retired I was moving to a place that they hadn't received any snow ever.

The initial clue was the Florida car license plates that boasted "Sunshine State" and  when I asked a guy at a service station stop if it snowed here and he said not in the 50 years he'd lived here.  So I figured I go a little further south and start looking for my new home.
