I bought a mini 4 pro with standard battery and now I got two plus batteries. I know I need to register the drone with FAA if I want to use the plus battery. But can I still use the standard battery after registration? I read somewhere saying the drone won't broadcast RID, so it won't fly. Is this true? Thanks.
That is my understanding. Since I am registered, I use the extended batteries for flying and I have 1 regular battery I use for firmware updates, transfering files, etc.

I think you are right. Found this YT video that offers a very clean explanation for the situation.

Thanks for the response. Can the regular battery be used to fly for recreation purpose without attaching an external RID module after FAA registration?

My understanding is no. Once it is registered, it has to broadcast RID
