I am planning to get a iPad Air wifi version as my monitor.  Will the 'follow me' mode work on it?

from my understanding no it will not it will need to be cellular

I'm using an Ipad mini 2 Wifi + Cell without the cell account , just using the built in GPS . Tried «follow me » once , it worked .The GPS feature is needed to«know» where the RC is . I don't know if it works better with the cell signal .

thank you all for your input, so the wifi will not work as it doesnot have a GPS function.  However, I donot need a cell account to operate a 'follow me' mode.  tks
